Gardian Angel
Once a long time ago there was a little town called Mistywood. It was a quaint, peaceful place. However, the town wasnít always peaceful. At random times during day and night villagers reported hearing horrible screams of fear and pain coming from the old abandoned house on the hill overlooking the town. This was puzzling to many, since nobody had lived in the house for centuries. Some even claimed it was haunted. The screams went on for months, but all the villagers were too afraid to investigate, too afraid of what they might discover inside. Then on the night of All Hallowsí Eve a ten-year-old orphan girl named Katsume decided that she would investigate the house and find out where the screams were coming from. As she approached the house the moon was covered by a blanket of thick clouds. Katsume put her ear to the door and listened. Silence was all that reached her ears. She tested the door and it opened silently. Katsume went in and, just as she shut the door behind her, the clouds parted to reveal a blood-red moon that cast an eerie glow on the evening mist. The first thing she found was a blood-stained backpack. As she walked down the hall she saw more blood stains. When she reached the living room, Katsume saw a gruesome sight before her. The room had blood everywhere, both old and fresh. But in the roomís center was a mother standing over her two daughtersí bodies, all three covered in blood. The mothr looked up and saw the horrified Katsume. She spoke, her voice filled with sorrow and grief, ìRun while you still can.î But before Katsume could recover and react, the mother struck. After that the screams were never heard again. Katsume was reported as missing the next day. The villagers searched an entire year for her. Sadly, Katsume was never seen or heard from again. The village built a memorial in the town square for her. The statue depicted her as an angel in a simple white dress with a white and pink hibiscus in her hair. Her eyes are closed and her hands are clasped over her heart. The plaque on the base read, ìKatsume, Mistywoodís gardian angel.î
