PERIDOT POV

I get wake up to feel the ridges of the truck that I had been sleeping on, only to see the magnificent gem beauty of Lapis sitting next to me staring at me back. As I start to turn completely red, she takes her vibrant turquoise, sunlight reflectant hand and starts stroking my face while planting multiple love knots all over my now beet red face and my neck. In response I give out multiple murmurs and sighs of pleasure which make her giggle and embrace me tightly. Lapis doesn't sleep, so I knew that she had been staying up all night just for this moment. She must've missed me, considering that it's hard to see your soulmate for 8 hours a day while realizing that you are directly in their presence, but you don't want to disturb them because you love them. As I think about all of this while next to Lapis, I never want this moment to end. We stop embracing each other after we hear footsteps, a sudden pause, then an item dropping. I see Steven and Amethyst, staring directly at me. Steven had a somewhat confused, enthusiastic, surprised, and an "Oh my God I can't believe it" shocked face. However, Amethyst, on the other hand, had a rather upset, confused, awestruck, mesmerized, "WTF" face. I suddenly remember why. When Amethyst and I were fighting during the construction of the drill, I had saved her when the drill was about to run her over. I'll never forget the look in her eyes, and it was like pure lust, desire, and surprise. I had realized just now that this was connected to the fact that she was horrified at the sight of me and Lapis together lavishly. She was probably jealous, and I didn't know what to do because I was sympathetic for her but I was committed to Lapis entirely. Being on Earth really blitz-attacks you with new feelings and experience. At that awkward moment I didn't know what to do. I suddenly looked up to see Amethyst running away, realizing that there were tears coming from her face, being brushed off by the air caused by her rapid movement. Steven called out "Amethyst! What's wrong? Where are you going?", the only response he received was a faster, quicker running from Amethyst. I didn't know what to do, so we just awkwardly asked Steven what was wrong with her, pretending to be clueless. He replied with "I'm not sure, I'll ask her later." I could tell that was a lie. Steven is old enough to know exactly what just happened, and he would have to talk with her later. I decide to lightheartedly change the topic by asking what Steven had came to visit us for, to which he replied, "I forgot, but we can just hang out for a bit since I've been out for longer than usual." We decided that together, we could go to Funland and simply enjoy Earth for once rather than having to deal with all of this violent gem stress or sit at the barn doing absolutely nothing. He told us that Connie should go with us, to which I replied "why not." It would be like a double date, except one group had accepted each other's feelings while the other group hadn't. After a short pause of thinking, Steven told us, "I think that Amethyst would want to go, but I'm not sure about right now. I'll ask her if she's better and if she wants to go, but if she says no then I might have a little talk with her and we'll go anyway." "Sounds good" we told him, before witnessing him storm off in the distance. Now, all we had to do was wait. "Where were we?" Lapis said while smirking and staring towards me.
