A/N Another really short oneshot. I really have no clue how long they are while I type them out on my ipod. The it just gets hard to make it longer. I did my best though.

BitterSweet
Seven hundred and sixty-five kilometers. Four hundred and seventy-five miles. The distance from Toronto to New York. Although it was only an 8 hour and twenty four minute drive, to Declan Coyne the distance couldn't be any longer. Those seven hundred and sixty-five kilometers were all that separated him from his girlfriend for an entire year. They might as well have been separated by the solar system in his opinion.
"I really miss you Holly J." Declan said into his laptop, a forced smile on his lips. It was about 11 o'clock at night and the two were having their usual conversation via computer. Declan usually got a little upset later at night when he knew these talks would end soon. They were becoming bittersweet to him. On one hand he got to see his girlfriend, on the other, it was a reminder of how far away she was and how long it had been since they last saw each other.
"I miss you too. But hey, there's only 10 months till graduation." Holly J smiled back.
"And the moment you get your diploma I'm whisking you away for another summer of love in New York." Declan said. "Anything you want will be yours. This time, no job though. Just you and me and nothing in our way."
"And there's winter break and spring break in the middle. They're not that far away. Even so, absence makes the heart grow fonder." Holly J laughed. Declan saw her glancing at her watch.
"Is there somewhere you have to be?" He asked, hoping the answer was no. Their Internet chats were getting less and less frequent lately. As bittersweet as they were, it was the only time he could really see Holly J and he wasn't planning on giving them up.
"I just promised my parents I would finish packing tonight. We're moving next week and I haven't been able to bring myself to start packing up my room. It doesn't seem real yet. I can always do it later though. Talking to you is a much better use of my time."
"No no, you should pack." Declan sighed. "I'll talk to you tomorrow. Same time as usual?"
"Not a minute later. Goodnight." Holly J said.
"Goodnight." Declan sighed into the camera. She gave him a look that showed how sorry she was then clicked off, leaving nothing but 'Connection Lost' on Declans' laptop screen.
"I love you Holly J." He said to the blank screen. Even though he knew he would see her tomorrow, Declan missed Holly J more than ever as he continued to stare at the blank screen.
Every time he thought how much he missed her, it reminded him how far apart they were. When he said he loved her, it just reopened the hole in his heart. It was more difficult than Declan has eve imagined to be away from his girlfriend for this long. He'd never cared about anyone as much as he cared for Holly J. He was living for the time they spent talking to each other, yet crashing as soon as it was over. There relationship had become completely bittersweet.
A/N I'm not really sure what to think of this one. Anyway, review please :D
