This is a poem (actually a sort of song) I wrote when I began to wonder about where Katara liked to spend her free time, but it really can be interpreted otherwise, because it describes a beach with sand, not an icy beach that she would have grown up on in her village.
Disclaimer: I own nothing. Well, I do own this poem, because it's in first person and doesn't even mention any of the A:TLA characters, so, NO COPYIN'!
The sun melts down into waters all glowing,
Spreading its rays in dazzling waves of color.
As bright, twinkling stars appear and gather,
The great star of flame sinks down to its bed.
The sky grows dark, and the stars are snowing.
Black waves roll to shore with a soft hiss,
Geysers of glittering spray smack the shore with bliss.
Water swirls around the shores great rocky head.
I walk along that shore, with sand beneath me.
That sand beneath me is cool to the touch,
And my soul relishes in the mystery and wonderment.
Moonlight, majestic, ghostly, on the water before me,
I sit on that beach, the moon so much,
Much of my search, my search for fulfillment.
