My Father, My Teacher, My Faith
Prologue: The Beginning
"The Kyuubi is sealed!" said the Sandaime Hokage,
It had been a long night of battle and smell of blood drenched the air. Many had sacrificed their lives for the sake of their village, many including Yondaime, and finally the nine-tailed fox monster had been defeated, sealed into the soul of a newborn child. This child had been born as a pair, half of a set of twins, and his twin sister was being attended to as the Kyuubi was being sealed.
"What shall we do with the sister?" asked a high-class shinobi to the Sandaime, "The villagers refuse to adopt the Kyuubi child but that doesn't mean the sister must suffer the same fate along side him."
"You must realize," said the Sandaime, "That not just anybody may take his daughter."
"I will take her," a deep-as-night voice that emerged from the shadows soon followed by the owner.
"Rikodamau!" yelled the high-class shinobi as he stared into the gray, hollow eyes. Eyes that looked as if they could look into your very soul.
"There is no need to worry," said the man, "I swear on my life to take good care of her."
Sandaime looked at the man's face, which was scarred horribly by the Kyuubi. He looked into his piercing eyes and saw that they were indeed sincere. This man would be able to teach the girl valuable skills, thought the Sandaime. The decision was made.
"Let him take the child," said the Sandaime.
"But-" the high-class shinobi attempted before being sternly interrupted.
"My decision is final."
The night of the Kyuubi's defeat separated two siblings and began two very different, yet very important, lives. The Kyuubi boy grew to be our well-known Naruto and his sister…
A/N: This story is an accompaniment to my work-in-progress, "By the Riverside," so if you want to receive the true understanding of this story and its characters, I strongly recommend you read it first. Reviews are always nice :)
