Junior G-Man

"Junior G-Man?" he asked, annoyed.

"What? You are," she replied in her usual peppy tone. He sighed and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"Did you have to call me that, though?"

"I don't see what the big deal was. No one was listening in, if that's what you're afraid of."

He sighed.

"Still."

"Oh, sweetie, don't worry, no one will hear about this, I promise."

"You better not be crossing your fingers behind your back," he warned playfully.

"I'm not," she assured, holding both hands out in front of her with the fingers spread wide to demonstrate.

"Good," he said, kissing her on the cheek.

"Now, onto other issues," she said, growing serious. He groaned.

"Penelope!"

"No, we have to discuss this."

"Can't we just sit here for a little longer?"

"I will admit, the fire is nice; but we can't keep putting this off." He sighed, eliciting a small giggle from her.

"Fine, what's the dilemma?" he asked. She held up the two DVDs they had picked out.

"Which?"

"You already know which one I'm going to vote for," he said, pointing at his movie choice. She groaned.

"C'mon, that one's boring!"

"And I already know that you're going to convince me to watch the other one," he said, slipping the DVDs from her grasp and setting them aside. "So why don't we not watch either and just enjoy each other's company?"

He lifted his wine glass and tapped it against hers, took a sip, set it aside, and placed a soft kiss on her lips. When he pulled away, her grin was back.

"I like that plan."
