Killian was bored. His hook was gone, his swan was gone, and his bed was uncomfortable. On top of that, the nurse who was supposed to bring his dinner had brought a strange red and white substance instead.

He poked it with his finger. Killian panicked when the substance started moving back and forth on its own. He backed up into his pillows and made a cross with his fingers, hoping that whatever the substance was would leave him alone.

Laughter bubbled up from the doorway. Killian looked up and his eyes widened. Emma was standing there, pointing her finger at him and practically hysterical with laughter.

"Emma! The red substance moves on its own! What is this sorcery?" Killian couldn't believe his swan wasn't taking the situation more seriously.

"Its'-" Emma snorted, unable to contain her glee. "It's called Jell-o. You're supposed to eat it." She approached his bed and took the spoon off of the tray, then scooped some of the Jell-o and whipped cream off of the plate and ate it. "Want some?"

Killian stared at her with his mouth hanging open. "I can't believe you just did that. This 'Jell-o' doesn't look safe to eat."

"Come on Hook. It's not going to hurt you anymore than you've hurt yourself. How many people have bested you now? At least three? You don't want to add a food to that list, do you?" she giggled and scooped another helping of Jello onto the spoon.

Killian was having trouble concentrating on her actions because of a particularly distracting smear of whipped cream on right above Emma's upper lip.

"You know, you're lucky. I know you're still cuffed, but I don't have to feed you like this. I could just leave you to battle the Jello on your own."

"NO! No. You go right ahead, love." Hook smirked and met Emma's eyes. "I would love for you to feed me. It's very...intimate."

"I'll ignore that last comment because I'm determined for you to try this." She leaned close to him, then pushed the spoon towards his mouth and motioned for him to open up.

Killian saw this as his chance. The distracting whipped cream was still intact and he intended to fix that. He opened his mouth and tried the Jello, surprised to find that it actually wasn't bad.

Before Emma could move away, Killian wrapped his handless arm around her shoulder. "Emma.." he whispered, slowly inching upward towards her face.

Her eyes widened. "Yeah?"

He pulled her a bit closer until their faces were nearly touching. "You've got a little something right...here." He pressed his lips against her upper one, then licked that offending dollup of whipped cream off. "There. All better." He then started to kiss away from her lips and across her jawline.

Emma's breath started to quicken. "Hook...I-" She looked down at his lips. They looked red and plump, despite the multiple scratches that ran down his face and across them.

Before Emma had a chance to stray any further, she heard someone clearing their throat at the door. She backed up like she had been burned and knocked over the Jello on the tray in the process.

Ruby walked into the room with a knowing look. "Well I see you've been busy."

"I-" Emma looked at Ruby then back to Killian. "I have to go now."

She ran out of the room and down the hall, obviously uncomfortable with the situation.

Ruby looked back at Hook and he gave her a brilliant smile. "Well that was certainly interesting."

"I blame that Jello. She had some on her lip and I just couldn't resist. It's so...good." Killian winked.

Ruby nodded, glad that her friend had finally found a man to tease her. "You know Hook, I think this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship."
