A/N: had this in my folder a over a year. I dug it up, polished it a bit and now it's being posted. The writing style's a bit different from my current one cause I wrote it a year ago. Oh well. Hope you enjoy it anyway even if it's not up to par. :)

Meaning:

Age 3:

At the age of three, Sora learnt the meaning of the word pain, and also the word frightened. It wasn't pain from an accident, or fright from a loud sound. No, pain became synonymous with Daddy, and fright with Mommy.

Yes, at age five, Sora learnt the true meaning of pain and fright. A few days later, abuse as well.

Age 5:

Sora learns the meaning of loneliness. Nobody wants to play with him because he's always falling. Not due to being clumsy, but rather his weak body; injuries did a lot to a young child. Nobody wants to talk to him because he was the weird kid, the one that anyone who was anyone - as much as they could be anyone in a playground - should avoid.

And most of all, nobody notices the bruises and wounds; no one cared enough to.

Age 6:

Sora learns the meaning of sorrow. His mother had just died; passed away because of too much stress on her weak body. His mom had been the kindest person he'd ever had the pleasure to meet and she'd tried her best to protect him. It was too much for her to handle. She went to sleep one day and never woke up again. Sora didn't(couldn't) cry; that was beaten out of him ages ago.

Then, his father becomes uncontrollable.

Age 7:

At this age, Sora discovered fun. He had snuck onto his father's computer - the man was out getting drunk with the pretext of work - and opened it. He'd seen the things the machinery could do and he wanted - needed - to try it out.

The computer took quite a while to boot up - it was an old model after all - but Sora didn't mind; he had patience in spades. The beatings had taught him this virtue if nothing else - waiting it out was better than running away. That equaled to more pain.

When the screen lit up, and he loaded a game, Sora was sucked into the world of fantasy. At least, until a few hours later when his dad came back.

Games were his lifesavers; they brought him away from pain.

Age 9:

At this age, Sora discovered companionship. He'd been brought to the orphanage, someone having finally found out about his abuse. The day he'd reached, was the day he met Shiro. Sora had been all smiles (because he didn't know any other expression).

So when he'd smiled at the girl, he'd expected a blank look like so many others before him. The "You're so empty" caught him by surprise. The grin he'd given after that had been genuine.

Then, Sora had become SoraandShiro.

Age 15:

Sora had been siblings with Shiro for six years already. There were no games they didn't become the masters of; NEETs they may be, useless they were not. So when a new world opened up before them, - literally - Sora smiled, and grinned at the girl beside him.

Together, through everything, he knew that as long as he had her, they would be unstoppable. They would be Blank.

-0-

Two broken people. One, a genius girl shunned even by her parents; one, a normal boy abused by his father and shunned by kids his age.

They both thought that they were unable to be fixed, that as broken pieces, they were useless. But they both didn't realize one thing:

They weren't broken because of their experiences, they were broken because they were meant to be two halves of a person.I'm
