She sat there soaking up the rays of Europe's sun. She laughed, genuinely at her sister playing in the sea. She enjoyed the seamless dreams of summer for the first time since nearly forever. Then she remembered him.

Those cheekbones, how they felt under her fingertips, brushing ever so softly when he was asleep, when she knew he couldn't feel the love she possessed for him. She remembered the eyes, shooting glances her way. Then gazing at her with an undefined emotion, something that was more than love. She remembered his mouth, always shooting off witty remarks or kissing away her tears, always making her tears go away. She grimaced remembering that, how she never kissed his tears away after his soul once again occupied his body. She shook that thought away though for all she wanted to remember was his love and the way she was his only and the way she only wanted him.

Dawn came out of the surf, laughing away her Italian admirers. She smiled until she Buffy, sitting there with a faraway look on her face and a lone tear travelling to the depths of her heart.
