Back for a bit. I felt obligated to post a Demyx story on 9/9/09, even if it does kinda suck. Oh well. It's what I get for doing this last minute.
Disclaimer: Don't own Kingdom Hearts. Just copies of it, and I don't make profit off of those so keep your lawsuits away.
"Um, Roxas?"
Roxas turned to find the hesitant voice belonged to Demyx. He'd only been in the Organization for a little bit, but Demyx seemed like a nice enough guy. Intelligent, if not a bit strange. He twisted off of his bed, from where he'd been trying to get Axel's sock off of his window.
"You need something, Nine?" The older boy seemed to almost wince at the formality.
"It's kinda a strange question, but I'd imagine you deal with it more, and the other members are a little….unapproachable….when it comes to the Nobodies under their command." Demyx toyed with the hem of his sleeve, reluctant to ask for advice from the new guy, but needing that advice nonetheless.
Roxas tilted his head, puzzled. "Something wrong with your Dancers?" That seemed a bit strange. Nobodies weren't just categorized by strength of heart; they were also categorized by their personalities. If a Nobody couldn't work as part of a group, they usually ended up a Dusk. Dancers had to be constantly in sync with one another, work as a team, and go with the flow of battle without being predictable. Meeting the requirements to become a Dancer Nobody was tough. He couldn't imagine being able to meet them and still have difficulties.
"Ah…Sort of. Ya see, I got a new Dancer, but she's younger than the others and refuses to work with them. I'd hate to tell the Superior, cuz he'd just turn her into a Dusk, but I don't know what to do with her!" He threw his hands up in defeat, leaning against the closed door.
"Could I come watch you try to train her?" Roxas figured it might be helpful to see what Demyx had been doing before putting in his own two cents.
The musician had the decency to blush. "Not sure about that," he mumbled. "Might distract some of the others. I know at least one of them has a crush on you." Which was strange to admit since any relationship with the distorted, but beautiful, Dancers seemed like it would be a bit awkward. Roxas suddenly remembered the experience in the library with the Dancer that liked him and decided that maybe that he'd be better off away from the other Nobodies for a little while.
The young blond sat cross-legged on his bed, thinking hard. "Well," he started reluctantly, "you could always try what I do with my Samurai." Ah ha! Here's what Demyx had come for. The water mage listened intently. "I put them in a controlled setting with some heartless, and let them fight alongside the others. They're usually pretty quick to realize that working together is the best way to go."
-------------------------------------------------------
"How'd it go?" Roxas asked carefully, peeking around the kitchen door when he heard Demyx storming by. One look at the older member's face made him decide he didn't want the full details.
"I'm putting her in a cleaning job with the other members' Nobodies. She might learn something from sweeping." And then he continued storming off towards his room. Probably to take a shower. Considering what he was covered in.
And that's it. I know it sucks. But I'm tired. Got 6 hours of sleep in two days under the stress of a ginormous pile of homework. I'm just glad we got rid of the viruses on my computer in time for this. Review please, and let me know all your constructive criticism tips.
