Akane trudged up the stairs in her scorched wedding dress with Ranma in his darkened white tuxedo behind her. Akane walked into her room and flopped down on her bed face first. Ranma came in behind her and locked the door. He then went over and sat on the floor against the furthest wall as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

"What are you doing in here?" she murmured into her pillow without looking up. She had contemplated adding the words "You pervert," but had decided it took too much energy to argue.

"Nabiki charges by the minute and it's the only other room with a lock," he mumbled back at her.

"Fair enough."

Neither wanted to further the discussion as they were both obviously too fatigued to do anything in the first place. However, the noise that was still emanating from downstairs disturbed any hope of a few minutes of relaxation.

"ARGH! SHUT UP!" Ranma jumped up and shouted out the window. Of course no one even heard him. He returned to his place on the floor.

"I know, sucks to be us," said Akane still face down in her pillow.

"I'll say. Can't they ever give us a break?"

"Of course not," she answered sitting up propped on one elbow.

Ranma sat in silence and then laughed to himself.

"What's so funny?"

"I was just thinking, if we had actually gone through with it then they'd be gone by now. And then we'd never have to deal with them again." They both laughed for a minute and then stopped as the thought really began to sink in. They looked at each other with little light bulbs flashing above their heads.

"Hey Akane, you wanna get married?"

"Uh huh!" They both dashed down the stairs and caught up with the priest just as he was about to leave.

"WAIT!" they shouted. He halted and turned towards them.

"We want to get married," said Ranma.

"You want to get married?" he asked them.

"WE DO!" they both shouted at the same time.

The priest shrugged. "I now pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss the bride." He ended his sentence as he turned and walked out the door with a wave of the hand.

Ranma and Akane turned to each other and shared a brief but energetic kiss. They then turned around and Ranma whistled very loudly. Everyone paused in various stages of fighting to stare at them.

"Ahem. Akane and I are married now so I'm afraid you all just have to go home now."

The crowd blinked, shrugged and walked away mumbling to themselves.

Everyone left within minutes. Nabiki stayed and totaled up her loses, Kasumi resumed dinner, and Soun and Genma started to play shogi.

"You think that was a little too easy Ranma?"

He shrugged. "Probably, but who cares. At least their gone for now, and I'm starved."

"Me too! What's for dinner?" The two rushed into the kitchen as if nothing had ever happened, not even bothering to change their clothes. Life continued on as it should be and all was at peace in Nerima for once.

The End???

"Psst, hey Shampoo? You think they fell for it?"

"Hmph. Shampoo no know."

"Ho ho ho ho ho. Truly Ranma Darling, you must know by now that I am not one to give up so easily!"

"Shhh! Shut up you stupid gymnast! They'll hear you!"

"And who might that be?"

"The readers you idiot."

"Duh. Even Shampoo know that one."

"ARG! Would you two please shut up!"

"Opps, sorry!"
