This is my first non-Harry Potter story, and I really hope it wasn't too awful! Reviews and helpful criticism are always appreciated :3

Hope you enjoy, lovelies!

Oh and of course, I do not own these characters (:

Princess Bubblegum was pouring over all kinds of different books in her library. It was idiotic, really. But she just didn't understand. And that was the problem, she needed to understand. Everything around her had a solution, a cause, a reason. And she had spent many countless hours figuring them all out.

And this, this was easy to figure out. Finn figured it out for Glob's sake, so why couldn't she?!

Of course the fact Marceline was swirling above her was not helping.

Her inky black hair continuously floated down to the Princess, occasionally flicking her face, sometimes covering the book she was trying to read.

Eventually Bubblegum became tired of the games and yanked at the black tendrils, dragging Marceline's face parallel to her own.

"Stop trying to distract me." Bubblegum said, her lips only inches from the vampire's nose.

Marceline grinned and flipped the right side up, hovering just above the table, facing Bubblegum. "What in Glob's name are you doing anyway?"

Princess Bubblegum scowled and pulled her book away from the vampire and set it on her lap instead. "What's it to you?"

"Simple curiosity." Marceline replied, rolling onto her back again to study the Princess upside down. "I'm filled with endless knowledge, you know. You could just ask me."

Princess Bubblegum scoffed, "oh sure you are." She muttered, not looking up from her book.

"Of course I am!" Marceline exclaimed and snatched the book, floating up out of Bubblegums reach. "Now, what is it you're looking for?"

Bubblegum stood up and stomped her foot. "Marecilne! Must you constantly irk me?"

"Yes."

"Why?! It's ridiculously childish!"

Marceline chuckled and floated down, landing on her feet in front of her. "It amuses me to see you get so flustered."

Bubblegum felt her cheeks heat up and scowled, snatching her book back. "I don't have time for games."

"Oh come on, everyone has time for games! You love games!" Marceline laughed, floating in circles around Bubblegum's head.

Bubblegum sighed and looked up at her, "if I play one game with you, will you leave me alone?"

"I don't really feel like playing a game right now."

Bubblegum stared at her, dumbfounded. "But..." She shook her head looking away. "I give up."

Marceline laughed and landed back in front of her. "Good! Because you'll never get me to shut up, nev-"

Bubblegum leaned forward and kissed Marceline's cheek. "I like spending time with you too, Marci."

Marceline's eyes widened and she blushed. "I-I... I have no idea what you're talking about!" She exclaimed and floated out of the room as quickly as she could.

Princess Bubblegum chuckled softly to herself and sat back down and opened her book, "finally... Some peace."

If anyone asks, I may just write another chapter :'3
