Betrayal!

Miss Parker stood on the beach watching as the waves came towards her as her thoughts tried to move her heart. She laughed coldly at the ocean and blew a piece of her hair from her face. A lonely tear fell down her cheek and rested on her lips. She thought back on her last meeting with Jarod.

She heard as Jarod walked up the set of steps and soon he opened the door and entered her house. When he lit the lamp he saw Miss Parker aiming her gun at his head, behind her were two new sweepers. He looked at her in surprise.
"What's wrong? I thought you loved me?" he asked and looked at her with sadness in his eyes.
"I did," was all she answered and motioned for the sweepers to give them some time alone, when they refused to leave she told them to at least turn around.
"I'm sorry I have to do this, Lyle will kill Baby Parker if I don't," she said and gave him one last passionate kiss.
"I understand," he said and silently told her he would escape to be with her again. She believed him. The sweepers grabbed Jarod and dragged him outside, she followed them out but as she stopped on the doorstep she witnessed how one of the sweepers raised his gun and as she took one step to stop him he fired a shot that penetrated Jarod's head. A look of disbelief flickered across his features before he hit the ground with a loud thump and never took another breath again.

She had never forgiven herself for that dreadful day. When she had collected herself enough she went to get Baby Parker, she saw as Lyle smothered him with a pillow. She realized that she had been a fool. With Jarod dead she was no longer of any use for the Centre and then there was no need for Baby Parker either. When Lyle exited the nursery and saw her he smiled at her. She looked at him with disgust and just left.
After Sydney had found out that Jarod was dead he refused to even look at her, and Broots took Debbie and left to work at a research facility that was funded by the Centre because he was disgusted with everything that had happened lately.
Miss Parker knew she wasn't worth anything to anyone, not even her father. She had read the file and realized that it was her own father who had planned the whole event.
She looked back at the Centre and then took her final steps into the ocean until she couldn't feel the ground under her feet. She swam until she went under the surface and didn't have the strength to get back up again. She smiled and as her lungs quickly filled with water her last thought was to Jarod: I'm sorry we can't spend eternity together my love. Everything went black.
A few days later Sydney was walking along the beach and spotted a body floating near the beach, he rushed out and grabbed it and pulled the water filled body back to shore. When he turned the body around and saw who it was he gasped in horror and his face became white. He touched her damp pale skin with tears falling from his eyes. Her lips were icy blue and here face ice cold, her eyes were open and unseeing.
"I'm sorry Parker, I'm sorry I couldn't forgive you," he choked out and cradled the body.
Sydney, Broots and Debbie were the only ones who attended her funeral. Both Broots and Sydney blamed themselves for their friend's tragic death.
When Sydney went to tell Mr. Parker about his daughter's death he had smiled at him and told him she had been tainted and that it was good she killed herself so he didn't have to do it himself...
