~Poland-1980~
Green eyes stared vacantly out of the window. It was snowing again bringing back memories that Feliks had tried to bury deep. Memories of playing in the snow before Ivan messed things up, happy memories of his best friend before Toris was taken away. Feliks had been so selfish the day Toris was taken. He hadn't tried to stop Ivan. He'd just laid there in the snow watching and laughing as his best friend was taken.
Some best friend he was.
The green-eyed blonde glanced over at the empty bed in the spare bedroom that he'd been trying to air out. It had been empty since Toris had been taken all those years ago. Feliks had let no one sleep in that bed ever. He sighed to himself softly. Toris wouldn't be coming back anytime soon.
Like more than likely he's forgotten all about me. Feliks thought sadly. He finished cleaning up the spare bedroom and went to get a snack. Work made a person hungry, whether they were the embodiment of a country or not. Feliks whistled happily as he grabbed some snacks to set out for the guests he was expecting. Brigid was coming over and she'd told him she was bringing some friends. She hadn't said who but he was looking forward to the visitors. It was a break from the dull monotony of his recent days so he was happy to be getting guests. Finally three o'clock rolled around and the doorbell rang.
"Like, come in. It's unlocked." Feliks called out as he went to the front door to greet his guests. He gave a warm smile to the Irish woman he saw first. Brigid was an old friend he was always happy to see. His eyes drifted to the three figures she'd brought with her. Raivis and Eduard he also smiled at. They were old friends of his even if they had been closer to Toris then him. Suddenly his eyes lit on another figure that was standing slightly behind the others. He saw a mop of wavy brown hair and a pair of nervous green eyes. Feliks' own eyes widened with surprise and delight.
"Toris? Is that totally you?" he asked joy filling his voice. The brunette's head snapped up and for a moment there was fear in Toris' eyes. Then they softened with happiness as Toris smiled.
"Yeah, it's me." He replied as Raivis and Eduard moved a bit. Feliks couldn't help running up and hugging his childhood friend. It was so good to see those green eyes and that smile again. He had missed Toris so much, it hurt.
"Like, I'm so sorry I didn't come look for you." Feliks started and Toris shook his head.
"It's alright. You didn't know where I was and I wouldn't have wanted you in that place anyway." Toris said a faint tremor in his voice. Feliks blinked than nodded smiling.
"Like, I'm just glad you're here." He assured Toris and linking arms with the brunette he led the group to the living room.
"Jus' be glad we brought him along, Feliks. It was damn hard getting away from Ivan." Brigid pointed out as they sat down in the living room. The blonde nodded as they sat down.
"Like I'm totally glad you brought them." He said happily and added, "Like, make yourselves at home guys."
The others nodded and they talked catching up on all they'd missed. Several decades of history takes a while to catch up on after all. They talked for several hours losing track of the time as they told stories and misadventures. Finally Brigid and the Baltics had to leave and although Feliks didn't want them to he knew they'd be back to visit when they got the chance.
"I'll be back as soon as I can, Feliks." Toris said smiling at the blonde. Feliks grinned and hugged the brunette.
"Like totally hurry back." He replied. Toris smiled and hugged him back.
"I'll hurry back." He agreed.
