Intro

The sun was setting over Brooklyn and casting dark shadows over the docks and the sole figure sitting at the end with his legs dangling over the edge. His mobile phone sat next to him vibrating across the wooden planks every couple of minutes not catching his attention, a small pile of mixed stones also sat next to him but even that was getting smaller as each and everyone of them was dropped into the cold salt water that flowed under the docks, making a small splash and sending ripples out to sea.

Leaning forward he placed his head into his hands and stared at his reflection as it stared back at him in disgust, pulling a hand away he picked up a small round stone and dropped it in the middle of the reflection shattering the image and sending it out to sea as wreckage.

Pushing himself back up before his reflection would be able to regain it's self, he picked up his now motionless phone and slipped in into the bag pocket of his baggy blue jeans.

Behind the empty spot where the phone once was laid a fully packed bag which contained, food, drink, spare clothes, and also the most important items in the world to him, they weren't high in value and wouldn't get him much if he was running low on money but that didn't matter to him, all that mattered was that he would have them close to him till the end of time when ever that time came. Picking the bag up and swinging it over a shoulder he slowly started to take small steps away from the one place he had spent most of his life at.

He didn't know where he was going, it didn't matter he wasn't coming back here, he had planned to leave the city and travel where ever the wind blew him for months but the plan was once shared with another, the only person he had truly deeply cared about from the bottom of his heart, but that person had left him alone and completely heart broken and from now on he would be alone with only his memories to keep him company.

The memories of his so called family was kept at the back of his mind under lock and key and was only opened when he let himself think he was worthless but his true love had taught him how to gain self of esteem. His only real friend and lover filled the rest of his mind blocking out the unhappy thoughts he had until he meet him but even that was getting smaller and the unhappy thoughts were gradually taken back control of his mind.

His feet seemed to be doing more then wind, carrying him through the now empty streets which were only lit up from lights inside the many houses with trailed the street and the lamps which were flickering on but the light inside of him was burning out.

Reaching the out skirts of the city he rented out a room for a night, where he was used for paying for a double now a single he was now one hundred percent sure he was alone, but curiosity got the better of him. Laying on the single, uncomfortable bed he reached out for the bedside table and wrapping his fingers around his phone before bringing it up to his chest. Selecting new message he start to write one more text to his true love.

I don't know if you will get this, properly not but I just want to tell you that you was the only person who kept me going through thick and thin and I love you for that and everything else you have done for me, I know I am who I am today because I knew you, I have been changed for good.

My love is with you forever and will always have a place in my heart.
