"Are you leaving me..."
"It will be better for the both of us. I-I don't... love you anymore Prof..."
Lucy said with her eyes to the ground.
"Lucy? What do you mean..."
Alfendi managed to say, pushing down the flood of tears.
"It means we can't... We can't be together. I never loved ya and I never will!"
A tear slid down her face.
"No. What you're saying it- it isn't true! I won't believe it! I... I can't... Please Lucy... This isn't you speaking. It's HER!"
His hands were clenched tighly into fists as he tried his best to hold back his other side.
"Lucy I-I've given you my heart and my soul and- and I thought you did the same... After four years Lucy. Four years! You suddenly came into my life. I thought I finally found something in this awful life of mine. Now you just tell me that I can't have that one thing. Only one! The only speck of hope in my whole damned life, the silver lining, everything! You gave me HOPE! You gave me a chance. It was you... All along... You saved me. Without you I- I don't- I wouldn't know what I'd do without you and right now I need you the most."
Lucy couldn't tear her eyes away from the floor as much as Alfendi couldn't stop looking at her.
"Remember... Remember that night. The night in the barn. It was raining and cold and so miserable but... w-we had each other and I always want to feel that moment for the rest of my life. Every time I'm with you I feel so alive, so... So at peace that nothing else matters."
"WHY LUCY! WHY! I thought- I though that this was mutual! I thought this was love. I gave you everything..."
