Fair.

She hates when he says it's fair, because it isn't. She hates it when he goes on about things normally, back to the drunken walk and the silly grin, as if nothing had changed, when it's obvious everything has changed.

This Jack Sparrow seems quite incapable of holding a grudge, but she still remembers the fierce protectiveness of a pistol with a single bullet. She knows that he can go to the end of the world to get payment for a debt, but he seems content with just watching her struggle with herself.

Maybe he knows about all that has been going on with Will. Maybe he knows about the broken engagement. Maybe that's his payment.

She killed him, and he's content to see her life ruined in payback. But it's not fair, no matter how she looks at it, because Will won't look at her anymore, not without a small sneer of distate at her natural tendencies to piracy. It's not fair, because Jack won't touch her in private, but he'll be overly affectionate in public.

It's just not fair.

And no matter how she looks at it, no matter what she tries or says or does, there's no way out of it. It's terrible to realize she doesn't much care about what Will thinks anymore, she wants Jack back. The old Jack. The drunken idiot that stumbled around with a wide grin, the one that got her quite drunk in an island and that saved her from her own clothes once. She misses him greatly, and no matter what he says, it's not fair.

It's never a fair ride for Judas, and this, Elizabeth is starting to understand now.
