This was originally written for the poetry contest at Neopets, back when during the whole "Krawk Island is missing" crisis. It got held over, but never featured, so I figured I might at least put it up here so that my effort wasn't a total waste.
I kind of like it, myself.
Where did Krawk Island go?
The truth is I do not know.
But recently I've asked around
I'll share with you all that I've found.
I started my search in the ancient land
Of stones and rocks and omlettes grand.
I asked the nearest Usul, who said with a shrug
"Ugga ug ugga ug ugga ug ug,"
Or to seek out the land with old rotten trees.
What? Of course I speak Ugganese!
So I came to a place so spooky and dark
Where, despite the tall trees, is terribly stark.
I passed an old lupe not a minute passed noon
who said "Don't come here on nights of the full moon."
With that advice, I knew where next to explore,
Well, you guessed it. Off to Kreludor!
So I boarded a plane headed up to the sky
To a place as barren as the desert is dry.
When asked the question "Where did it go?"
The Grundo told me "Do I LOOK like I'd know?
Why don't you try some place close to the earth
known far and wide for the king's great girth."
Off to a land medieval and strong
filled with terrible food and off-key song.
I mustered up courage to go ask the king
Who replied "You're not funny at all, you can't even sing."
So I ran off quickly, fast and ferocious
to the neighboring kingdom, with knowledge precocious.
Although it shared the same overall theme,
much more civilized this place did seem.
"Do you know?" I asked, approaching the king,
who laughed and replied "Well, I know everything."
I expected some more, but he left it at that.
Seriously, what an arrogant prat!
You ask me again "Now where did it go?"
To tell you the truth, I still do not know.
But there is one thing I've learned from my rhyme
Maybe I'll search in the water next time.
