Kris grabbed a pebble and threw it through the vast, sparkling blue ocean ahead of them.

They watched as it skipped through it, causing small ripples within the ocean in of itself. It did only about five skips before it fell down to the deep waters below it. Seeing how it didn't go too far, they grabbed another pebble and threw it. This time, it only skipped about three times rather than five like the last.

They sighed and only pulled their legs up to their chest. They stared at the ocean as the sun started to go down into the horizon ahead. They heard footsteps, which made them look behind them.

The brunette saw Susie walking towards them. She sat down next to Kris, having her arm rest upon her knee as she looked ahead to the sea as well.

"Hey." She said.

Kris only had their open hand up against their head, moving it from their head to away from them. They saw Susie look at them for a second, making them think that she saw how she greeted her back.

They looked back at the ocean and setting sun. Kris laid their arms and legs out as they watched the sky go from an apricot to a midnight blue while the sun went down. They were able to see the stars above them come out while everything became darker and darker.

"I guess it's kinda nice, watching the sunset." Susie turned towards the human next to her.

"Yeah." Kris replied.

Susie moved back as her eyes widened. Kris looked at the purple monster, seeing how her face was when they spoke.

"...What? You thought I was mute or something?"

"No- No, that's not what I was thinking." Susie responded, getting her body back in its original position before she fell over onto her side. "I've just never heard you talk before, punk, considering how you're so damn quiet and everything."

Kris only chuckled at the reply.

"How come you don't talk too much, Kris?"

"...I've just, never really liked talking verbally for the most part. I don't know, I suppose communicating through sign language was easier for me." They looked down at their feet. "I used to be talkative, though, mainly with my brother before he left for college. It was only around him that I even talked much. Anybody else? Quiet as a ghost. Even then, I preferred to use sign language to speak at times. I... I guess you could say it's... It's also a personal reason why."

"Damn, you two must have been pretty close, huh?" Susie said.

They only nodded, holding back tears that were forming. Their breath got noticeably heavier than it was before as they bit their lip. A tear managed to get out of their eye and fall down to between their legs, creating a tiny puddle.

Kris only wished he was there right now rather than later.

They felt themselves getting pulled to their left. It caused them to look up and see the monster's face. Her arms were all around Kris, hugging them firmly.

"Don't get used to it." Susie huffed. "You needed one, punk."

Kris only smiled at that. It didn't matter if she wasn't a hug person, it felt pretty nice for them. It was the first time in a long while that they had felt safe, secure, warm... Genuinely happy. They bet that it was something similar for her as well, even if she didn't want to admit it.

That was their Susie right there, and one that they wouldn't trade for anything or anyone else in the world.

A/N: This was supposed to be Krusie related, but um whoops, probably not as much as I wanted it to be XD Oh well, I tried anyways, y'all can take this as Krusie if you want I dunno. I usually don't write fanfics this short, but it doesn't hurt to write something short and sweet rather than long ones every now and then. I know Susie doesn't call Kris a punk, or at least not too much if she did say it once and I somehow forgot it, but I thought it was something nice honestly since it's not always used in a bad way and shit.

If they're both OOC then I apologize, I tried pfff.
