1-Up - Poem
The 1-Up is an item known in the Mushroom Kingdom, to give it's user a second chance
To save from falling, or getting hit by fire, or being attack by a golden branch
The 1-Up is the world most useful tool, but it is rare to just find one
And not many people known it, but it is not able to be used by everyone
It's not something you find and it ensures your safe from demise
It's not some magical mushroom that is a demon in disguise
It's not some potion you can go and buy from a store
It's not some thing you can just grab from beneath the floor
The best example is the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario
And let's use Princess Peach, which the two we all know
Princess Peach is kidnapped many times throughout her life
And Mario has always protected her from the dreaded afterlife
But you may have seen him die before, but have you seen him use the 1-Up?
No? Well, no surprise there. Let me tell you what's up.
You see, 1-Ups aren't things that you would expect them to be
1-Ups aren't things you can just easily see
There aren't something that you can give
That "Life" counter is not life, it's Mario's will to LIVE
It's Mario's counter to see how far he will go to save her
It's Mario's counter that pushes him on, to become her savior.
Every hit he takes, and every pitfall he goes through and seeks
The amount of "Lives" is how far he goes to save Princess Peach
And the 1-Ups are just there to increase his hope, they do nothing in time
In fact, all types of mushroom are just to mess with his mind
Now you are probably yelling at me, or are about to shout
But tell me, isn't this what Mario is all about?
One man, ONE PERSON, going passed 8 worlds
Attacking enemies, going through caves, just to save one girl
And with every second passes, from the ground to clouds above
He goes through everything to protect the one he loves.
And when the counter reaches 0, that's when he truly dies
Because he gives up on saving her when he runs out of lives
But he will continue if he feels in his heart
That without her it would have all been for nothing from the start
So next time you see 0 on the counter that is above
Just know the he never gives up on someone he loves.
