AN: I don't own Heroes of Olympus or the Underland Chronicles. Also, to anybody waiting for me to continue Digimon Academy, here's the explanation. I have writer's block. When I have writer's block I get bored. When I get bored I write. The only reason this ISN'T Digimon Academy is because I'm happy with the prologue and I don't want to screw up chapter 1. Now, let's start, shall we?
Percy was having a fine day. It was nice to be able to hang out with Annabeth, Jason, Leo and the others without having to worry about defeating Gaia. Then the giant ants came.
They came almost out of nowhere, one second Central Park was quiet and peaceful, the next, gigantic ants snapping at mortals with their oversized mandibles. The seven of them drew their weapons, apart from Leo, who chose to use fire. Amongst the chaos, he was vaguely aware of someone else, who was ploughing through the ants almost twice as fast as them. Leo had charred ant corpses surrounding him and Frank the elephant was trampling on them wherever he could, before changing back to Frank and shooting down about a dozen, but they couldn't compare to the new guy.
Eventually, the onslaught of insects stopped. "So, what now?" Piper panted. "We follow that guy." Percy ran off in the direction the stranger was heading in. When it involved entering some sort of secret cavern, he removed the stone covering the entrance, climbed in and slid it back into place.
It was something he regretted immediately. As soon as the light was out, he was lying on his back with someone's foot on his chest. Just then the others entered, with Leo's hands serving as a light source. "Hey Percy, you... woah." With light, it was now obvious that the stranger was not friendly. "I don't know who you are, or why you're following me, but you should turn around before you get hurt, or worse."
With that, he walked up to the cliff they somehow failed to notice, and jumped. "Oookay... I'm kind of afraid to ask this, but... now what?" Hazel asked.
This time, Jason gave the answer. "We follow him, of course."
