Kurt had not expected married life to be so easy. Not that he was expecting it to be really horrible mind you; it was just something that everyone had to work at. Not him and Blaine. Despite their problems when they moved in together during College, everything worked smooth now. Blaine had learned to not smoother Kurt and Kurt had learnt to let Blaine create his own stamp on the houses' décor. Blaine did the cleaning and Kurt did the cooking and they both criticised outfits from various reality tv shows. Their sex life was as vibrant as ever but we will get to that later. However despite being extremely happy something was missing.
One relaxed Sunday evening Kurt and Blaine were quietly eating dinner at their fashionable oak dining table that Blaine had eloquently set with a candle masterpiece and everything. They didn't even have to talk to each other; they simply enjoyed the culinary concoction Kurt had whipped up for them (spinach and ricotta ravioli with sage butter if you must know). It suddenly hit Kurt what was missing as he was biting into ravioli.
'Our life is too ordered. We need a challenge Blaine.' Kurt blurted out into the quiet dining room.
Blaine's shock was etched onto his face. 'Didn't we get enough disorder through out high school and college Kurt?' Blaine retorted.
'I know but a pleasant type of chaos.' Kurt took a deep breath and whispered: 'A baby, Blaine.'
Kurt squeezed his eyes shut to avoid Blaine's disapproving glare.
'By gum you're right Kurt!' Blaine answered.
Kurt opened his eyes to see Blaine's face aglow with happiness.
'We need a fashionable high chair in between us with an adorable baby tucking into their dinner, there would be no pleasant silences again!' Blaine added, gazing into an imaginary world in the space next to him.
'We've shown we can handle marriage it's only logical to take the next step.' Kurt agreed feeling as if a weight had been lifted off his pale shoulders.
'It will be very difficult though could take years even! But if its chaos you want the adoption process would defiantly be it!' Blaine adds, his golden eyes twinkling in the candle light.
Their euphoric moment was rudely interrupted by the shrill ring of Kurt's phone.
'Rachel this really isn't a good time' Kurt uttered into the phone.
'It's the perfect time! I had the best idea ever! I will be the vessel of your and Blaine's love child!' Rachel exclaimed.
'How did you know that we just decided to have kids?' Kurt replied astounded.
'I didn't I just realised that I was born with a surrogate and you two are too amazing to me so I should return the favour!' Rachel said in a long breath.
Blaine and Kurt looked at each other the biggest grins on their faces and nodded ever so slightly.
'We humbly accept your offer.' Kurt said.
'Now who is going to donate his seed?' Rachel said matter of factly.
Kurt and Blaine looked at each other and went bright red. What have we got ourselves in for? They both thought.
