"No...not again!"
The moment that the attack started, it was all too obvious what was happening. For a few vital seconds, all he could do was watch because this couldn't be happening, this wasn't happening, it's all too similar.
Eight years.
Eight years.
He'd lost eight years of his life because of the Light, and now one of the Team was working with their Partner and no, no, no he wouldn't be taken again.
He looked at the button. If he hit that then chances were he'd die, and everyone else there with him. It wouldn't be a quick death either. He knew what happened if you were exposed to space. Suffocation while your blood simultaneously freezes and boils. Not a quick death, not a painless one.
But even that was better than being taken again.
"Arsenal, no!"
"I will not be taken again!"
He hit the button.
It didn't work.
The first thing he did after that was run.
Tactically, it was a good decision. He could warn Nightwing and the League. But that wasn't why he ran. He ran because he was scared and he couldn't be taken again.
What kind of hero was he?
I'll admit, I'm not a big fan of Arsenal. I don't hate him, not at all, I don't even dislike him, he's just not my favourite but that moment right there was just...just...GAH! I needed to write something about it! And chances are he's completely out of character...
So, after reading the summary for next week's episode I knew that something bad, i.e Blue's betrayal, would happen this week and I prepared myself for it. And then Young Justice's brilliant writing struck. I let them lure me into a false sense of security, thought 'Oh, maybe they won't do aynything after all' and then...BLAM! I need to work on my not getting drawn in skills...
On another note, the writer in me that comes up with plots and goes 'Now where would I go with this?' is making me feel very pessimistic towards what happens, because I'm not good at being optimistic towards plots because quite often the way to come up with an outline is 'Think of characters. Now what's the worst possible thing I can make happen? Make it happen,'. For example, right now things are going a bit like this:
(In regards to the fight with Blue Beetle at the end of War)
Most of fandom: "Guys! Guys! He'd didn't use lethal force! Jaime and Khaji Da are still in there!"
Me: "Guys! Guys! He didn't use lethal force! The Reach want them alive!"
Case and point. I can't help it!
