This is an attempt at a Jakeward after realizing there wasn't enough AUs for them, haha... Consider this only an introduction/prologue that I decided to publish in order to convince myself to continue, to make what I'm doing seem less of a personal project that I'll spend years on and more of a "I'm actually going to post this up", I guess?
Thanks for taking a look!

"Good morning."

"Morning, boss!" Jacob hurriedly took off his jacket and hung it on the coat rack next to the main entrance of the store. He flashed his employer a quick grin and walked towards the back of the store.

"Jacob, a new shipment of daffodils came in earlier. Take care of them? And be careful 'cause they were a handful to get a hold of."

"Sure, sure." Jacob said good-naturedly as he placed his apron on and rolled up his sleeves in preparation of a long day of work.

"Are you up to anything after work today?" His boss turned around to lean against a counter.

"Hmm, no? I don't think so, it's just another night with me and the tv."

"How about joining me for dinner then? I have a reservation at a restaurant for two, and my friend is unable to join me tonight."

"Really!? I'd love to!" Jacob turned to assess his boss who, unfortunately, was looking straight at him. He raised an eyebrow and then looked down to his clipboard, which left Jacob to blush and turn back to work.

Jacob decided he looked good today as usual. Edward Cullen owned the flower shop that Jacob passed by every morning. He never ventured in because he wasn't exactly a person people wanted in their stores, Jacob figured that it was because it would ruin business or something, not that he really minded. It wasn't until his friend's birthday that Jacob worked up the nerve to walk into the shop out of necessity, only to make a u-turn and walk right back out after he saw Edward's face. It wasn't that Edward was ridiculously attractive, with his wild, bronze hair and green eyes that sort of made you lose sight of everything else or anything!

"Cool, could I pick you up at 8? What's your address?"

"I-er, would it be okay if I just came here at 8?"

"Yeah, that's fine." Jacob perked up and smiled nervously, receiving a grin in return from Edward. Conveniently, Edward lived right above his shop, and twice, Jacob was lucky enough to go up for dinner. The thought of those times made him smile to himself as he worked; happy memories were hard to come by for him, but recently with Edward's presence in his life, they occurred everyday.
