Exhaustion clung to the king's brow as he headed home. His crown and armor glinted in the burning sunlight, his footfalls rather heavy.
It was a tiring day for Asgore. He had spent several hours within a small room with human governors and politicians, explaining in excruciating detail what rights monsters should have.
Many of the humans seemed to be against Asgore, with only a handful of them standing by his side during the negotiations. Despite this, Asgore had gained some slight ground in today's meeting, though not enough to guarantee any change to how his kin were being treated.
"It took more than a day to build Rome Asgore. Don't despair too much." One of his allies, a man by the name of Ken had said. Though it was rather hard for the king to take it to heart.
He wiped his brow as he approached his home, a newspaper on the sidewalk proclaiming about more Monster deaths and how humans should carry weapons at all times. He scooped up the paper, giving it a slight read before he sighed.
"It seems the more we do, the more angry people get." He muttered to himself. He shook his head as he walked towards his household. With a sigh, he unlocked the door, opening it wide to admit himself in.
"Surprise!" Four voices rang out, causing the king to drop the newspaper in surprise. Three young ones giggling filled the air as they ran towards Asgore. He gave a laugh as they threw themselves upon him.
"Happy Father's day!" They chirped out, all of them hugging the legs of Asgore as it was the only part they could reach.
Asgore gave a warm smile to the children, wrapping all three of them in a warm hug. They all laughed and squirmed away, all of them bringing small presents with them.
His son held his up first, the wrapping hastily put on with a bit more tape than necessary. He raised it up from his hands, earning an excited look from the young goat child.
He carefully unwrapped the package, some tape sticking to his paws as he did so. However, under all the wrappings was a small, hand made dish. It was colored in various colors, a crude drawing of Asgore upon its surface. Asgore gave a warm smile at this, wrapping his son in a loving hug, earning a laugh in response.
He turned to his other children. Chara was holding a crown of golden flowers in her hands, but Frisk was holding a colored drawing of the Dreemur Family, along with some crudely drawn friends, such as Sans, Papyrus, as well as many others.
He took the drawings from both of them, giving each of them a loving hug. All the children giggled and ran away behind Toriel, who smiled at her husband. She went into the kitchen for a second, bringing out various foods that she carefully set upon the table, along with a large present sitting at the head of the table.
The children got into their chairs, Asgore looking at the present sitting upon the head of the table. He gave a look to Toriel, who nodded, a small smile upon her face. He carefully unwrapped the present, finding it containing a single shirt. He gave it a quick look over, his eyes sparkling and a chuckle escaping from him.
The Dreemurr Family had a wonderful meal that evening, Asgore wearing a lovely shirt that contained the words, "World's Greatest Monster Dad".
