Summary: Rocky starts off the new millennia of 2000 with a question. Will she say yes?
"Happy New Year"
Under the glow of exploding fireworks and his steeps masked under the cheers of friends as they made a toast to the New Year. Rocky silently crept behind his girlfriend as she sipped on wine watching the fireworks. He leaned in and cover her eyes with his hands.
"Rocky!" she scolded him as she nearly dropped the glass she was holding with surprise.
"I have a surprise for you, but you have to keep your eyes closed," said Rocky.
"Please tell me it's not another dog," she said not wanting to vacuum any more dog hair then she already to.
"It's not," Rocky whispered into her ear.
"I promise I won't look," she said.
Rocky moved his hands and took the glass from her hand so it didn't end up a broken or spilt everywhere. He could barely contain himself. He took a deep breath as he took his position. He had come to Adam's apartment for nearly every night for a week to practice for this moment.
"What in the world are you doing?" she asked.
"Just give me a second here," he said looking around for the box and panicking for a moment thinking he left it in the car. Then he found it in his back pocket.
"Open your eyes," Rock announced queuing his friends to be quiet.
"Oh my god," she gasped cupping her mouth with her hands.
"Aisha will you marry me?" Rocky asked.
"Yes," said Aisha.
"And to Aisha and Rocky the best of luck to their future marriage!" toasted Kimberly smiling brightly. Finally those two were finally going to get married.
Adam went over to his piano and sung a song he had written just for his two best friends after Rocky had told him about what he had planned. He hadn't even told Rocky about his own plans for them. The only response the couple could come up was a quick kiss and dancing along to the sound. It was the best response Adam could have wanted from them. The second before he was nervous his friends may not exactly appreciate an unexpected cheesy song from their best friend.
"I love you," whispered Rocky.
"I love you too, monkey-man," replied Aisha.
"I was not a monkey, it was an ape," said Rocky. Aisha rolled her eyes.
"Maybe I should start calling you mama bear again," teased Rocky.
"Don't you dare," warned Aisha.
"I don't know, I think it has a nice ring to it" Rocky teased.
"Now don't go getting ahead of yourself," laughed Aisha playfully hitting his chest.
Rocky wrapped his arms around his future wife. What a way to start the new millennia? This was going to be the best year of his life. To think not that long ago he wasn't sure he'd ever see his mama bear again. Now here they were engaged at a party with all their friends from their ranger days and from college. He waved a Danielle, who was chatting with Zack humoring a new crazy business idea of his. She smiled and waved back. Without Danielle setting him up with Aisha on that 'blind' date their first year of college they wouldn't be here. She had no idea about their history when she had set them up. It was just meant to be. He just knew it had to be.
Author's Note: This story is sixteen years late, but better late than never. Thank you for reading this short one-shot. I couldn't get this out of my head and I wanted to get a little something out for the New Year. I've been gone form the fanfiction world for several years now, but I'm back and working on multi-chapter Power Ranger story. All of you can look forward to that. But for now I hope you all have an amazing start to the New Year. This is also unedited so if you find any spelling mistakes please let me know.
