Chapter one
(Ember P.O.V)
I am Ember Sybel a high school transfer student from Transylvania. At this moment I am coming of the plane and heading off towards baggage claim. I am supposed to be staying with the family named Clearwaters. My bags were easy to spot they were bright orange and yellow. Once I had my bags I headed over to the arrival hall. Lucky for me the people looking for me were in the front of the crowd. There was an older women, a younger looking girl and a teenage boy looking around 17 years old. What I noticed when I came closer is that the boy was huge at least 6 feet tall that is a whole 2 feet taller than my meager 4 feet.
'Hi I am Ember Sybel, are you the Clearwater's?' I ask them, the older women smiled at me and says.
'Yes, I'm Sue and this is Leah and Seth, we are so happy to have you stay with us. I just smiled and shake their hands.
When I shake Seth's hand a shock went through me. I quickly looked up to him to see if he felt it to. When I meet his eyes he looks shocked then happy then sad. I just looked away and dropped hid hand.
'Well let's get you to your new home.' Sue says breaking the silence,
'Seth grab her bags.' I let him grab my main bag that had just my clothes and pictures but when he tries to grab my small carry-on bag I pull it out of his reach.
'I'll just keep this one.' I tell him. He just nods and goes off towards their car. Sue and Leah follow him and I just followed them. Seth puts my stuff in the back of the car and opens the back door for me. I quickly put my bag on the bottom and get in. He closed the door and gets in on the other side.
'So tell us about yourself.' Leah tells me turning around in her seat.
'You have a boyfriend?' I just laugh and shake my head.
'No, just Danny and Izzy.' I tell them, when I mention Danny Seth starts to shake. I was worried about him so I put my hand on his shoulder which immediately calms him down.
'You okay?' I ask, he just nods and looks down at his lap.
'Who's Danny?' I hear Leah ask brining me out of my daze. I looked up at her, she is looking concerned to her brother.
'She's my best friend.' I tell her.
'Danny's a girl!' She says and when this comes out of her mouth Seth looks up hopefully.
'She is a girl.' I say emphasizing the she part.
'Okay so what's your favorite color?' Seth asks with a smile on his face and from then on I decided I never wanted to see him without that smile on his face.
'White,' and that is how the whole ride to my new temporary home went from Seth asking my favorite things to Leah asking about friends and family. The only thing I had to lie about is that my parents were killed in a car crash, they were actually murdered. They finally stopped with the questions when we arrived at the house.
'Come on, I'll show you to your room.' Leah tells me, getting my bags from the back of the car. I quickly open the door and grab my personal bag from the floor and head after her. It is a really simple house. The living room on the left of the entry way and the kitchen on the right with the stairs straight ahead.
'You like it?' Seth asks from behind me.
'It's cute.' I tell him and walk in.
'Come on your room is opposite of mine.' He tells me. I nod and follow him up the stairs.
