This is just a short fic about Edmund and Peter. I love all the fics that describe how close they were when they were children and I came up with this idea as why. Hope you enjoy and please review!

The Child was warm, safe. Light encompassed him and a familiar face lay beside him. The Great Lion purred as he gazed at the child. Part of Him felt pained -After all this child would know pain and anger in the future - but it was an overwhelming love for the creation, for this new person that flooded Him. The Child in question simply gazed at the golden face above him. He smiled at the Lion, knowing he was loved. The Lion smiled back and leant over to place a kiss on the Boy's forehead. The soft mane tickled and the boy closed his eyes. When he opened them, the Lion was gone. Instead, a warm blackness surrounded him like a blanket. The boy kicked out, only to be greeted by a soft wall. He was trapped. Just as he began to panic, a warmth washed over him and he remembered The Lion. He remembered that he was loved. He remembered that The Lion would never leave him. All he had to do was wait.

Some time later, the boy emerged from his cage. The harsh light around him hurt his eyes and he began to cry. He cried out for the Lion but no lion came. The boy cried even harder and suddenly he was warm again. Soft hands held him and a sweet murmur of voices broke through the terror of his mind. The boy opened his eyes and was greeted by a golden haired being. It was not the Lion, but this boy had hair that looked the same, smelt the same. Reaching up and grasping a golden lock in his little hands, the boy was comforted by the softness of the hair. He stopped crying as he realised he was safe. The Lion had not forgotten him. He only had to wait. And in the meantime, he knew this boy would look after him. The Child smiled. He didn't cry when the boy passed him to a lady with dark hair who cried as she rocked him. He didn't even cry when the boy left the room later. He would be back. He would look after the Child until he met the Lion again.
