Ding, Dong, Ding, Dong
The church bells rang and dark blue eyes immediately opened. Shit, Gray Fullbuster thought, this is the sixth time this week I woke up because of the stupid church bells. It's all Natsu's fault.
Nari yamanu kane ni tsugerareru no wa mezame kimi no nai genjitsu (A sudden silence following the ringing bells made me wake up, a reality without you)
Stupid Flame Brain going to that mission and leaving me behind, Gray thought cursing Natsu infinitely.
O~~~Flashback~~O
"Don't worry, Gray, there's no way I'm losing on this mission." Natsu said.
"No way, Ash Brain. I'm coming too. Goddammit, it's an S- class mission." Gray said.
"Aw come on, Ice Princess, I completed that other mission in Galuna Island and can kick some butt again." Natsu said, grinning madly.
"WE completed that mission, Retard." Gray said, practically snarling.
"I'll be back in one piece, Ice Block, I guarantee it." Natsu said.
Natsu took one step closer and warm lips met slightly cold ones.
"Good bye, Gray. Meet me at the top of the hill. I'll be there in one week, you can count on that." Natsu, said as he Lucy and Happy walked out the door of the Fairy Tail guild.

Gray's lips tingled as he remembered the feeling of Natsu's lips, as well as the way his cheeks began to burn.

Gray got up and walked to the bathroom when he noticed messy handwriting scrawled on today's date it read:
July 20- Ice block's birthday and our 1 year anniversary
Gray clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white. Stupid Natsu saying good bye as if he wasn't going to come back!

When Gray was done washing up and putting on his clothing, he made his way to the door and headed towards the top of the hill where Natsu had promised to meet him. But the church bells rang again, stopping Gray dead in his tracks.

Gray turned and practically ran to the flower shop and bought a bouquet of red roses. He then walked to the path familiar to him, to which he had walked to a lot these past few days, the hill to which his relationship with Natsu first began. When Gray reached the top of the hill, he spotted a tombstone in front of the tree. It said:
Natsu Dragneel
Son of Igneel
Husband of Gray Fullbuster
It's kind of ironic, Gray thought sadly, this is where our relationship began and this is exactly where it ended. This was where Gray had proposed to Natsu. This was where Natsu had died in Gray's arms. Natsu had been true to his promise and showed up on the hill a week after his mission, although he was weak and extremely injured.
"Aishiteru, ore no koibito*." Natsu had said before leaving this world.
Gray gently placed the bouquet on top of the tombstone and then automatically stared at the gold band on his ring finger.
"Aishiteru, Natsu." Gray whispered as tears streamed down his cheeks.
Katachi o nakushite mo futari wa towa ni aishiaeru deshou (Even two shapeless people can forever love each other)
