The house has a balcony, a wrap-around porch and a kitchen bigger than Bobby's and Pastor Jim's combined. The yellow paint is chipping, the wallpaper curling, and it's not much but Sam likes it. Dean knows, though Sam never says it outright.
"You want eggs for breakfast, Sammy?" he'll ask.
"Fish can swim at 68 mph," is Sam's reply.
"The most common name for a goldfish is Jaws," he says that afternoon. The kid's been on a real fish kick today, but Dean doesn't mind. He's had ages to learn Sammy-speak.
He makes chicken-fingers for dinner. (Sam's always hated fish-sticks.)
