Title: Actors
Author: f.f. lindy
Notes: A second posting in my attempted return to fanfiction. I've been super into post-eps lately, so here is one of the many clogging my tiny hard drive. A very short Hollywood AD post ep to brighten your day.
"How could anyone possibly misinterpret us that severely?" he chuckled, sitting in a club they had stumbled upon with the bureau credit card in hand.
"I guess we're better actors than we thought," her smile lit the room. It seemed to him that those smiles had become more and more frequent in recent months. He loved it.
"I think that director was just the most oblivious man who has ever lived."
"I wouldn't say most oblivious, hell it took you five years to figure out what was going on," she poked.
"Well according to the gossip mill we've been going at it since we met. If they can pick up on a little sexual tension, you'd think he could."
"In all fairness, he did. There was a make-out scene."
"But you ended up with Skinner. Who would think you were sleeping with Skinner?"
She didn't respond, but a tiny smile pulled at her lips.
"You aren't sleeping with Skinner are you?"
She laughed and rolled her eyes. "I hardly have the energy to put up with you, much less you and Skinner."
"Cut me to the quick," he pretended to be hurt.
"Get over it Mulder. You're not an easy affair to keep under wraps."
"Have you ever thought," Mulder paused for a long moment, debating whether or not to continue. "Have you ever thought that maybe we shouldn't keep it quite so," he licked his lips, "under wraps."
"What are you talking about Mulder?" she shook her head lightheartedly.
"You know, don't you think it would be fun to be able to hold hands when we walk out to our cars."
"I think you're crazy."
