I changed quite a bit from the way it actually went. This is a tragedy, remember. Review please.
"...I can't stand the idea of you hating me forever..." Damon whispered, while placing Elena's unconscious body on the couch. "Elena..."
"How is she?" Jeremy asked from the door way, "Is she alright?" Damon, shaking his head, looked at Alaric.
"Where's Jenna?" Alaric asked worriedly, he felt he already knew the answer. Instead of answering, Damon turned to Jeremy.
"I'm sorry Jeremy." He whispered, turning his attention back to Elena, "Please Elena. You have to wake up.." He stroked her cheek gently, hoping with all his being she would wake up, not as a vampire, but as the same old Elena.
"Why isn't she waking up?" Jeremy asked, fear evident on his features. "Bonnie did a spell, she's supposed to," Jeremy couldn't finish, tears already rolling down his face. "She's..."
"You have to be patient, Jeremy." Damon replied quietly, he knew it was taking longer than it was supposed to, he still had hope though. The Elena he knew wouldn't give up so easily, she was a fighter, which was one of the reasons he loved her. "She'll wake up... she has to." He finished.
Alaric finally spoke up, "Damon," He paused unsure if he should continue, "She's not coming back..."
"Don't speak like that," Jeremy almost shouted, then walked out of the room, mumbling something under his breath. Alaric quickly walked after him, making an attempt to comfort him.
"Elena, wake up, please," Damon whispered louder, tears in his eyes now, "If not for my sake, for Stefan, for Jeremy. Elena..." He could feel a tear roll down his face. It had been a while since he'd cried, last was when Rose had died...
Stefan barged through the door with Bonnie and a still quite-alive John, "No..." Stefan whispered, tears instantly coming to his eyes.
"...I couldn't do it..." Bonnie cried, on the floor now trembling helplessly. "I thought I could save her, I'm so sorry," Bonnie said quietly, "I'm so sorry."

"We're gathered here today..."
Damon had walked away from the small group that showed up for Jenna and Elena's funeral, walking up the hill, he remembered the first time he laid eyes on Elena. It had been at this exact place, looking up at the sky he remembered everything he had done to her. Eveything he had said to her, and every reaction she had given him.
Flashback
"Do you need a bib?" Elena asked in a taunting voice.
"Sorry if I can't unhinge my jaw like a snake to consume alcohol." He had replied, smirking.
"Mmm, whatever. Another round, Bree!" Elena chirped.
"Girl, you should be on the floor now."
"What? I'm not even drunk!" Elena had exclaimed, "My alcohol tolerance is all the way up," Elena jumped as high as she could, "here!"
Flashback end
Damon smiled a geniune smile at the memory, he couldn't help the tears that blurred his vision. "Why?" He asked outloud, towards the sky, "Why couldn't it have been me?" He whispered sadly, turning away and looking back to see Stefan looking at him. He could see the same pain he was feeling reflected in Stefan's eyes.
"We'll get through this, Damon," He heard Stefan mumble softly, "We will."
Damon stared at his brother for a few moments before nodding, "I know," He replied, just as softly, "I know..."
I didn't really like this, but whatever. It's just something to keep you guys occupied until my real story is finished. Review.
