Author's note: Short scene for kmeme misfire "Well, that was... short and crude".

"Well, that was... short and crude."

Shepard nearly had a heart attack. All her limbs involuntarily spasmed and she scrambled to cover herself with the duvet, trying to save what little dignity she could, all the languid and blissful pleasure of the second before burnt out of her body by the sudden rush of adrenaline. Saren's quiet voice had cut through her loudly vocal orgasm like a knife.

Nihlus on the other hand, did not bat an eye. Casually resting his weight on one elbow, he looked back over his shoulder at the tall figure in the doorway. He still lay on top of her, so she could not see his face, but the mischief in his voice was unmistakable.
"If you think you can do better, why don't you join us and show me."

Shepard nearly choked at the suggestion. With Nihlus you never knew for certain whether or not he was being serious, but this was raising the stakes too high. What if Saren decided to play along?

"You know that would ruin you for others, Nihlus. Meet me in the airlock in 5 minutes."

And just like that, she was alone in the room. Saren had turned away, the door slipping closed behind him (as treacherously silent as it had upon opening) and apparently Nihlus had sprinted into the bathroom, the racket in there testifying to his determination to meet the impossible deadline.

Hopping back in on one foot, fastening the buckles on the other boot, he stumbled to the bedside and dropped to his knees. For one dizzying moment she drowned in his sparkling green eyes, as he took her head between his hands and pressed his forehead against hers.

"We'll finish this properly, I promise."

The tender seriousness of the gesture wasn't lost on her. Besides, Nihlus had always been infuriatingly impossible to get angry with.
"I know how he gets - now git!"

He grinned and gave her lower lip a playful nip. Then he rushed out the door and left her, sated, bewildered, amused, and with entirely too many thoughts to entertain.
