Herobrine.
Herobrine. The very name of him strikes fear into the souls of even the bravest adventurers. Some say he is the brother of the almighty Notch, and was exiled to the Nether for an unforgivable crime. Others say he comes from the legendary Far Lands. Only one fact remains consistent.
His eyes. Orbs of pure white, never blinking. Many miners claim to have seen him watching them deep in the caves, his eyes as visible as lava in the snow. Others say that his eyes only are visible to you when he is angered. But one word is usually used to describe them.
Creepy.
Some say that Herobrine can be summoned if one creates an altar of sorts, which includes Netherrack and gold blocks. This is untrue, as no one has ever succeeded in forcing him to appear. Eyewitness reports say that Herobrine remains stoic, through arrows, creepers, and many other projectiles, even TNT. Although it has been told that even the slightest movement can upset him, and that you must remain completely still.
Since the appearance of the Endermen, it seems that Herobrine sightings have become increasingly rare, often not appearing for weeks. There is some speculation that he is afraid of the Endermen, and that the has retreated to The Nether, creating new creatures such as the Blaze and the Magma Cube, and building the structures known as Nether Fortresses.
A legend tells of the creation of Minecraftia, and the part Herobrine played in it. It was found in a chest, locked deep within one of the infamous Strongholds. Here is said legend.
