'Things that go slash in the night'

An Evil Dead / Friday the 13th Crossover

By Martin Shaw

I've tried to put it all behind me. The cabin, the book, Linda, my hand all of it. But something, out there keeps calling to me, the demon who wants to claim my soul and send me to hell, the demon is only known as..Voorhees.

'Mr Williams!'

Ash blinked. 'Wha?' looking around he saw Rob Rami, store manager and his boss stood infront of him, looking less than pleased. 'Mr Williams, I sent you to the storeroom less than 2hours ago to collect some computer parts and cd's and I find you slumped up against the wall snoring like a baby!, care to explain yourself?' Ash sprung to his feet, quickly dusting himself down. 'Uh, yeah I uh...' his eyes darted around for something to help his excuse. ' I slipped on a rat'. Oh you asshole, he's not gonna fall for that.

The store manager gazed a hole through Ash and raised an eyebrow. ' A rat?' His voice rasped the words dripping with sarcasm.

Ash scratched the back of his head, 'Yeah I was reaching up to the top shelf to get a box of that new game 'Fist full of boomstick' and when I took a step back I stood on something soft and squeaky, Then I fell back and hit my head' nodding to confirm his story. 'What a line of crap' The two men stood in silence, which made Ash, feel very uncomfortable. It was the sort of silence that could drive a man insane, the moment where if you don't know who was going to reach for their gun first sort-of-moment. Rami shook his head and walked off in disgust. ' Count yourself lucky this time Mr. Williams, and enjoy the annual week vacation.

Ash breathed a sigh of relief, but just as to end the conversation on a friendly nature he shouted over. ' Uh where is it going to be this year Mr Rami?'

Rami turned round rolling his eyes. 'If you had read the brochue that has been up on the noticeboard in the staffroom for three weeks, you would know that we are going to a Forrest campsite just 80miles north of here'

Ash frowned. 'That's all good sir, but what is it called'

'The name of this establishment, Mr. Williams is Crystal Lake '
