A/N: Couldn't sleep anymore... so I wrote this up. I think it would be funny to have those two as friends... someone to share a secret with. Anyway... I am off to breakfast and then to more fanfic writing... see you!

She sat at the table with Stefan and a tray with food. That wasn't anything special per se, but the fact that Stefan, her new friend was a vampire was. Well, that and the fact that he had rescued her from his brother...
It had all happened little more than a month ago. She had just met Damon, spent a great night together with him, until he bit into her. The morning after her blanks started. Sometimes she remembered, sometimes she didn't. Damon was using her as a little doll, and there was no visible escape for her.
Until Stefan actually found out about her situation and helped her, that is. She remembered how he gave her a strange necklace, and how after that everything got clearer. Damon's voice didn't make her head fuzzy anymore, and when ever he did try to hurt her, Stefan would be there, fending him off...
Ever since, she and Stefan had started something like a friendship. She knew after all his secret, and that made the other boy-vampire loosen up. He started to hang around with her in school, since it didn't faze her anymore that at lunch he would just sit around and not take anything for himself to eat.
And sometimes they would she meaningless conversations. Just talk, fool around. She had long ago accepted that she would never be more than a friend to Stefan, and even though that knowledge sometimes caused her a pang in her heart, she never questioned the situation between them. Instead she sat now with him at lunch, enjoyed her meal and wondered how he was going to tell Elena that he was a vampire with fangs and all.
"So, how are you going to tell her?" she finally asked, after her short mental trip down memory lane. She pulled on some fries that sat idly on her plate, and then plumped them happily into her mouth. Oh, how she loved fries... her little sin in between long phases of absolute resolve not to indulge in such.
The only indication that he had heard her question was to look up at her and raise an eye brow. So he was going to play stoic vampire today, was that it, wondered Caroline.
"Please, don't start with the ice-prince act!" she huffed irritated, plumped another fry into her mouth, then whipping her fingers on the napkin next to her.
"I'm not doing what you call the ice-prince act..." he said, and she dimly wondered, if he would have frowned had he more control over his stone-like features.
"No, but you are avoiding the question..." she replied, eating a rather long fry.
He stared at her, then without warning took some fries from her plate and stuffed them gracefully into her mouth. Her reply was to narrow her eyes at him.
After glaring at him for a full minute she muttered in a low hiss, knowing he would hear her anyway, "Never do that again! Those are mine!"
His reply was a smirk, which always came easy to him and then he told her, "Never ask again... how I tell Elena or if I tell her... that is my problem."
Knowing that this conversation was closed Caroline kept on glaring at the vampire at her table, and then slowly started to return to enjoying her fries. It wasn't like she anyway wanted to know; she thought and huffed, after another mouthful of fries.
Stupid vampires...
