Hello Readers, first a shout out to PotterGal14, this early upload was for you PMing me about reading, yay! So, as you can see, this redo is longer and hopefully much better. Please enjoy, and if you are new to this story, I hope you like it. If you are an old reader, I hope this makes more sense than the old version. Also, Nrissa's pronunciation has changed to include the N-uh sound, so it sounds like it is spelled.

For the new readers, a recap. Nrissa is a demigod, she is aware of her demigodly status and her parentage, despite not being officially claimed( So I'm kind of publishing the sequel before the original, as this will be like her second important life journey. The prequel may or may not come out). While she may come off as Mary sue-ish in the first few chapters, I assure you that her weaknesses will come into play, especially in the revised version. It is also a fun contest to see if you can guess her mom( her dad is mortal).

In retrospect, it should have amused her that the biggest change in her life started in one of the most ordinary of places, a high school cafeteria. Kids were running around, spreading pieces of gossip and scurrying around to find their "friends". The aromas of many food items filled the air, things from pizza to ramen noodles to curry. The lunch line in the front was barely visible among the swarm of students moving around the tables. Standing near the front of the line was a black-haired girl, scowling at the slow-moving people in front of her. Tapping her foot impatiently she glanced at the clock in front of her. At this rate lunch would be over before she even got her food. Wincing she thought of the line behind her. Some of the kids at the end of the line would probably spend their whole 40 minutes in this line. The school needed to find a better way to manage lunch.

Eventually the line moved up, allowing the girl to pick her lunch. Moving her hair out of her face, she picked up a slice of pizza and a fruit snack packet. Normally she would grab a chocolate milk as well, but she had brought a water bottle to drink. After taking her food to the cashiers, she headed into the crazy mob.

"Hey Nrissa! Want to join us?" a girl behind her called.

Nrissa turned around and her scowl deepened. Standing before her was Mac, the student council president. It was far too easy to recall all of the girl's misdeeds even if none of them had been against Nrissa herself. She laughed internally, thinking about the fact that most people in her grade would die to sit with Mac, but Nrissa was definitely not one of those people.

"Never in a million years!" she threw back.

Turning around, she walked towards the back of the room, even though she was dying to turn around and see Mac's face. It was obvious that no one had ever said no to her and it gave Nrissa a vindictive sense of pleasure. While she wasn't as sadistic as her mother, she couldn't help that some of her did enjoy giving people what they deserved. But now she had to find somewhere to sit. Having no friends was a bummer, but it wasn't soul crushing, at least not for Nrissa. She had always been an independent gal when it came to people her age. So, she decided to find some random loner kid and rain on their parade of self-loathing and loneliness. She found that lonely people were much more loyal than those with a million friends, mostly because they had a tendency to cling to their only friends.

Sitting down in a random open seat, Nrissa glanced at her company. Surprisingly she recognized the short brown haired child beside her. Resident loner child of 10th grade, Connor Baldwin was like a ghost. People ignored him, and he in return ignored them as well. A small part of Nrissa thought that his pale face and brown eyes reminded her of a past crush….a certain Di Angelo…..

Stop, she told herself, that would never work out on so many levels. Besides, you know how that would have turned out anyway.

It was just her luck that Miss Popular walked by their table. Hips swaying like a cliché model, she seemed to be eating some sort of healthy bran muffin that probably promised weight loss, good health and all that other nonsense that most ads blared at people these days. Just as Mac took her last bite, she casually flicked the empty wrapper at Connor's head. Upon contact Connor's head shot up, hands flying frantically to find whatever had hit his head. Upon seeing Mac, his eyes turned cold and he simply glared at the girl. As he picked the wrapper off his head, Mac turned around and looked at him with mock surprise.

"Oops, I'm sorry. I thought you were the trashcan. I mean with your garbage colored hair and trashy clothes, you can't blame me," she crooned.

As Mac and her giggling friends walked away, Nrissa felt bile rise in her throat. Seeing Connor fiddle with the wrapper, she jerked it out of his hands. Storming over to the nearest trashcan, she threw it in with all the force she could muster. Walking briskly back to the table, she picked up her pizza and began angrily shoving it in her mouth. Amongst the bites, she murmured angrily to herself.

"Someone aught to teach that girl a lesson. I swear, one more day of this nonsense and I might blow it. And it's not even the second day of school yet!" she growled to herself.

Connor let out a huge sigh next to her. Looking curiously at her table mate, she saw his eyes swimming with exhaustion. It was obvious that he had to endure this irritation more often than he cared to. It also appeared as if he had accepted that he was the school's punching bag, which only seemed to incite Nrissa further. This had to end now or else the entire school would end up suffering. Her fingers prickled with excitement as she thought of revenge. Scanning the cafeteria with pizza in her mouth, she saw something that pricked her interest. The pudding bowl had emptied and one of the lunch ladies had left the cafeteria to get some more. A plan hatched in her mind.

"Mac is wearing some cute clothes today, don't you think so Connor?" she asked slyly.

Connor, being the boy he was, looked at her strangely. But before he could say anything, Nrissa continued her little devious plan.

"I mean, wouldn't it be such a shame if her shirt was brown instead of the beautiful yellow blouse that so obviously fits her ensemble. Wouldn't that be such a shame?"

Connor shook his head. Scowling darkly into his own pasta lunch, he glared over at the popular table.

"Not going to happen. When you roam around halls by yourself, you pick up some random gossip. And with Mac's outfits being planned by an ex-Hollywood stylist, the idea you describe seems unlikely to occur."

Nrissa responded to his doubts with an evil grin. Now there was just one last thing to do. She closed her eyes, searching for the tug in her gut. Finding it, she opened her eyes a bit. Scanning the cafeteria, she spotted Mac and pushed a little with her powers. Two blinking meters flashed next to her head. One, filled with a green bar, was very tiny. Next to it was an identical red counterpart. This one was much larger. Man this girl has done some pretty bad things in her life, she thought, Should be a piece of cake!

Thrusting a metaphorical hand towards the red meter, she sucked some of the red bar closer to her. The lower the red bar got, the tingling in her hands increased. Satisfied, she shut off her connection to the bars. Just as she did so, the lunch lady walked back in with the bowl of pudding. For a split second, Nrissa felt bad for Mac and all the kids that wanted pudding, but the energy in her hands quickly convinced her otherwise. As the pudding bowl got closer and closer to Mac, everything seemed to slow down. Just a split second before the lunch lady was next to Mac, Nrissa thrust the energy ball at the chocolate pudding. Suddenly the pudding bowl seemed to flip into the air, hurtling towards an unsuspecting target.

Splat! Mac was covered head to toe in sticky chocolate pudding. An eardrum shattering scream could be heard emanating from a red-faced brown mess, catching the attention of the entire student population. A hundred glittering eyes joined Nrissa's as everyone turned to witness Mac's embarrassment. A second of silence later, the whole cafeteria roared in laughter, the clicks of phone cameras acting as a metronome to the cacophony. Nrissa looked on in mirth for a while longer before ripping open her fruit snacks. Her job was done, it was time to sit back and watch the show. It was even more enjoyable because no one could pin it on her. She was so far away that she couldn't have done it. Oh, if they knew, she chortled in her head.

She tilted her head to the left, only to find a doe eyed Connor staring at her. Disbelief oozed from his eyes as he swung his head from Mac to Nrissa and back again.

"How the? What the? I mean? What? How ? You?" he sputtered on.

Then all of a sudden, he simply shut up and stared at her. Nrissa shrugged it off a first, knowing that her involvement was safe because even Connor couldn't prove her involvement. But when it continued, her resolve shattered.

"What are you staring at?" she snapped, " Do you have a problem?"

Connor blinked, red coloring his face. He silently ate his pasta for a few minutes. Then placing the empty container on the golden-colored table, he looked back at Nrissa. He opened his mouth, the closed it and swallowed. Nrissa raised her eyebrow at his strange behavior.

"You are an interesting girl, Nrissa. Strange but interesting."

Nrissa smiled at him, then huffed as her hair fell in her face again. She slowly pushed her hair behind her ear. She flashed a toothy smile at Connor.

"Believe me, I get that a lot. 'Sides I wouldn't be judging me, Mr. I forgot my notes in class," she teased.

During the silent period of lunch, Nrissa has remembered the last time she had interacted with Connor. He had left his notes in English class and the teacher had tasked Nrissa with the task of tracking him down, since no one else seemed in the mood to hunt down " Baldo" as the idiots of the school called him. She had found him in a corner in the middle of a paper blizzard that just happened to include him and his backpack. She just stood there for a second, waiting for him to look up at her. When Connor finally noticed her, he turned pink at the sight of his notes in her hands. Silently he picked up his papers, which Nrissa had silently help him clean up. But before she could crack the ice with some joke about him huddling in Make out corner, he had fled.

She saw recognition in his eyes and an even darker blush crossed his face. Nrissa noticed that he had a small spattering of freckles across his face that she hadn't noticed before. She wondered what else about him she hadn't noticed. But before she could recognize his unconventional t-shirt, he met her gaze. Notice her stare, he turned away in a huff. Nrissa held back a flurry of scathing remarks at his reaction. It wasn't like she had any connection to this mortal.

"Now this may go without saying, but feel free to sit at Casa Baldwin anytime. You know, if you want to."

Little did she know how wrong she was…

So what did you think? Good? ( in case you haven't noticed, I have deleted the old version, but if anyone is interested at laughing at my horrible work, or want a comparison point or wants to see the 1st drafts of upcoming chapters, PM me with the chapters of the old one you want) I actually read through this time and revised it a couple times instead of plopping garbage on a doc and handing it to you guys. I know this is way far away from perfect, so I am looking for a beta for this, if any of you are interested. Please PM me about issues, esp. grammar, and they will be fixed asap.

Also, since there are going to be a lot of main characters later on, I am giving the option of sending in some OC's ( PM's only, although only if you are a guest will I let you review them in). PM me for details about the "contest", especially those of you who entered earlier [ PotterGal14, you don't have to :)]. I know it's a horrible habit for authors, but is it ok for me to ask for a review if it's my 1st chapter? (P.s If you like a line, you can just copy paste it into your review, if that's all you want to say. It's my fav form of review). I will take flames quite gracefully, if that is what you feel like contributing. But keep in mind that is my baby, so I will love it no matter how ugly people say it is.

Back to the story, a couple things. One: action might come in a couple chapters later, partially because of setup and partially because I have trouble writing action. If that's your forte, send me any pointers you have. Two: although this is "fanfiction" I happen to love creating my own characters. I'm still learning how to replicate Rick's characters, the fanfic was mostly to use his world, but I am also attempting to improve that skill. So, the original demigods will probably have little cameo's, just to give a feel for the world.

Lastly, I'm going to restart an idea that I had before. The age old trivia, but with a twist. Winner gets to PM me a line that I will place somewhere in the next chapter ( or in this case, the 3rd chapter). This one is:

What is Nico's hair color in the original drawing that was "officially" from Rick Riordan?

Well, that's all I got now, so

Au revoir
