"We have a lot of ground to make up because of you." Captain stone said, from behind me while waiting to begin the exhibition stage of the drill team competition. I turned and said
"It's a good thing were excellent at this" with a smile on my face from both excitement and how close we'd become. We stood up straight,
"Let's do it."
We started.
I wear a disguise
I'm just your average Jane
The super doesn't stand for model
But that doesn't mean i'm plain
If all you see is how I look
You miss the superchick within
And I christen you Titanic
Underestimate and swim
I've got the rifle
Gonna be myself
Our moves were on fire they had to let us win, we danced around the hall, both our friendship and rivalry growing stronger. My moves complimented Jennifer's and Jennifer's complimented mine.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw brad nodding his head to the beat our bodies was making, everyone was watching us two dance and I couldn't blow it.
I'll be everything that I want to be
I am confidence in insecurity
I am a voice yet waiting to be heard
I'll shoot the shot, bang
That you hear 'round the world
I'm a one girl revolution
Her scowl filled my vision as she walked past and for a split second my heart stopped and I faltered but then I remembered who i was dealing with. I smiled as she pasted me clapping her hands together in sync.
We danced across the hall, we danced in and out of sync our bodies harmonizing. My breath was running low and she didn't help with that sexy smirk on her face.
She smiled slightly I think it was meant for me but it was amazing, keeping eye contact we danced around each other and her smirk didn't move from her face. Oh how I love that smirk!
The dance continued, we high fived and my hand heated up electricity tingling my palm, we kicked the air and jumped up and down, grabbed some streamers and danced.
The colours green and yellow supported our school and us, two colours similar but extremely different working in harmony.
She was really smiling now it was filling my whole body with electricity, such a rare and beautiful sight… And I caused it!
The whole crowd was having fun and then we knelt close waving the ribbons between us. There she was, Cadet Captain Jennifer Stone. The woman I'd fallen madly in love with since meeting her. I loved everything about her that smirk, the evil glint in her eyes, the colour her hair shone in the sunlight. She was beautiful in every way and I intended on telling her at the end of this.
The streamers went flying into the air after a small dance and we saluted the crowd, the crowd went wild with applause. We looked at each other and grinned
Some people see the revolution
But most only see the girl
I can loose my hard earned freedom
If my fear defies my world
I declare my independence from
the critics and their stones
I can find my revolution
I can learn to stand alone
As the winners were being called her face was calm and collected all traces of her gone back behind her mask. That I was disappointed about not the fact that we'd only got 2nd. I didn't care about the nationals if I couldn't perform with Jennifer.
What hit me most is when she told me she was going to Europe, it almost made the hug I gave her before that worthless. I was going to tell her then but in the end I chickened out.
After all if she was going to Europe, then I'd never see her again would I? I would do anything to hear her call me a "Maggot" once more though absolutely anything.
