I don't know why, but this idea came to me while I was watching politics on TV.
Disclaimer: I don't own Merlin.
Arthur looked at the people gathered around him. They were all standing around a round table. Each person there was loyal to him. Each person there had something to offer to their group.
To his left stood Guinevere, someone who he loved with all his heart and always knew how to calm him down. Then there was Gaius, a man that acted as his father when his own wasn't there for him. Percival stood next to Gaius, a man whose silent presence and strength were always reassuring. Next came Lancelot, a man that never gave up until he accomplished what he had set out to do. Then there was Elyan, a man who was resourceful and always willing to help. Looking at Gwaine, Arthur couldn't help but smile. The man was able to add humor to any situation he found himself in. Standing beside Gwaine was Sir Leon, the most calm and level headed of all his knights. Finally, there was Merlin, Arthur's manservant and most loyal and trustworthy friend.
Arthur knew that their chances of defeating Morgana were very slim. He knew that what they were about to do would most likely be a death sentence. However, he couldn't help but smile at the people standing next to him. If he was going to go up against Morgana and have the slightest chance of winning, then he would do it with those gathered around him. Together, this band of brothers would be able to do anything.
I hope you enjoyed this. Tell me what you thought.
