It was a lovely day at the beach, Riku was lying in the sand half asleep. In the distance was Sora looking for Riku. He stopped and looked around. He smiled when he spotted Riku. Sora started tiptoeing, so he wouldn't wake Riku up. Riku opened one eye and saw Sora.
What in the world is he doing? Thought Riku, Is he trying to sneak up on me?
Riku smiled when he formed a plan, then close his eye. He started to count in his head. When Sora was close enough, he crouched and jumped. Riku rolled out of the way with his eyes still closed.
"What the?" Sora asked.
Riku pretended to yawn and grabbed Sora, holding him close to his chest. Sora started to blush.
He's too close, Sora thought.
Sora started wiggling very hard, trying to get out of the hold. Riku frown at this.
He never tried so hard to get out of this before, Riku thought, something must be up.
Riku let go of Sora. Sora quickly sat up and moved a few feet away. His face was still red.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Riku asked in concerned.
"No..nothing," Sora answered.
Riku moved closer and put his hand on Sora's shoulder. Sora flinched.
"You can tell me anything," said Riku, "You know that right?"
Sora nodded.
"So what's the matter?" Riku asked.
"I..I.," answered Sora.
"I can't help if you don't tell me," stated Riku with a frown.
Sora started to shake causing Riku to hug him tightly. Sora froze with a blush on his face.
"What are you so afraid of?" Riku asked.
"Y..you," Sora answered.
"Why?" Riku asked.
"If I told you, you'd no longer want to be my friend," answered Sora.
"Now I won't be doing that," said Riku.
"You promise?" Sora asked.
"I promise," answered Riku.
"Even if it disgusts you?" Sora asked.
"Even if it disgusts me," answered Riku, "Now, what's the matter?"
"I..I.." started Sora.
"I?" Riku asked.
"L..L.." said Sora.
Riku still looked at him in the eyes.
No matter how hard I try, the words won't come out, thought Sora.
He looked up at Riku and thought of something.
Please don't hate me for this! thought Sora.
Sora leaned up and kissed Riku square on the lips. Riku's eyes widen but slowly return the kiss. They broke apart in need of air.
"I'm sorry," said Sora looking down.
Riku lifted Sora's chin for him to look at him.
"Don't be," Riku said.
They kissed again. Sora looked out at sea.
"That's so beautiful," he said lending against Riku.
"It sure is," Riku agreed.
The fear distance was the sunset reflecting off the water. A wonderful sight indeed.
