i do not own harry potter.
he was like a meteorite, hurtling through space, alight with flame.
he was the perfect knight-in-shining-armour, blazing with life and glamour, danger and mischief. gleaming, glowing with the promise of a whirlwind romance and heart-stopping moments.
he made her numb, you see, to the wasteland that was her life.
he made her forget about gabrielle's almost-death, about her parent's midnight fights, of the fear of her veela-side.
so she flashed that impossibly perfect smile, tossed her inhumanly gold hair and let him sweep her off her feet.
( he made her forget who she was )

she was like diamonds, sparkling with her veela-prettiness, ablaze with light.
she was the perfect damsel-in-distress, glittering with pretty smiles and satin dresses, hiding a broken heart and secret imperfections. shining, dazzling with the promise of a fairytale romance and storybook moments.
she made him blind, you see, to the wasteland that was his life.
she made him forget about fred's death, about his family's brokenness, about the war that was raging in the night.
so he smiled that dangerous smile, drew his prince-charming sword and let himself drown in her pretend-fairytale.
( she made him forget who he was )

because he's really just a curse-breaker with a shiny sword, and she's really just a broken girl with a pretty smile.
and they're both just living in a haunting mockery of a fairytale, with only a faint memory of the person they used to be, and only their wastelands of a heart as a reminder.
