His wrist had started to ache a while ago but the blood had only just started to creep its way down his arms. The blindfold made his vision pure black but he could see their faces. Dad, Ben, Matt, Mum, Maggie, Anne, Lourdes, Lexi and hell even Karen. They never left him alone. Some haunted him with their deaths while others brought calmness and strength. He would die before Pope could lay a finger on anyone he cared about. He would do anything to save them.

It had been a few days since Pope had taken him and he was starting to feel faint due to lack of food. It had been hours since anyone had entered the room but he could faintly hear voices coming from somewhere nearby. He wondered if anyone was coming for him. Maybe they haven't noticed. Dad and Anne would be too busy working on plans, Maggie and Ben would be too busy with each other and Matt would be too busy trying to be a kid. Their lives wouldn't change.

His mind went back to when he was being controlled by the parasite. He tried to hurt his father and his youngest brother, when all he wanted to do was protect them. He remembers trying to shoot himself. He can't protect anyone. He couldn't protect his mother. He couldn't protect Karen. He couldn't protect Lourdes. He didn't protect Lexi, like he should have. He can't even protect himself. Maybe everything would be better if Pope did pull the trigger, but he couldn't let his dad die for him, he wasn't worth it.

The door creaked open and Hal heard footsteps edge closer, until his blindfold was yanked off and the light came flooding in. He blinked a few times until he saw Pope and a few others staring at him. One man approached and undid the handcuffs while Pope pointed his gun at Hal's head.

"Take one step, without me asking, and this bullet will be in your brain." He growled.

Hal slowly stood up and rubbed his wrists, getting rid of the dried blood and looking at the wounds, they were red and raw.

"Now, young Mason, it is time for you too die. "

"Tom, I've got word from Pope. " Maggie said entering the room.

"What did he say? Is Hal okay?" Tom demanded as everyone in the room's eyes turned to Maggie.

"One of Popes guys came to the gate saying he had a message for us. He said that if we ever wanted to see Hal alive again we needed to come to this location, without any weapons or Hal would die. " She replied pointing to a map.

"We have to go, now!" Ben firmly spoke.

"Hang on, we can't all go. Someone needs to stay and look after these people. " Weaver said.

"You go. I would be more than happy to look after your people for you, Tom Mason. Go and collect your son, alive." Cochise volunteered.

"Thank you. Its settled lets leave." Tom said.

Tom, Anne, Maggie, Ben, Matt and Weaver walked through the abandoned city and eventually arrived at the location, but what they found wasn't what they had expected. They saw no sign of Hal, the only person who was there was Pope. He stood at the door, of what looked to be an old bowling centre, a gun resting in his hand.

"I'm glad you could all make it." Pope spoke finally.

"Where is he?" Maggie demanded.

"You'll find out very soon. I've been thinking a lot about Sarah these last few days and how you let her die. You would rather kill than save someone's life. So I took something that you love and I'm going to destroy it in front of you. I hope you all said goodbye."

A/N: This is set after 5x04 when Hal is taken by Pope. I know that a few episodes have passed since then but I wanted to post it anyway.

Let me know what you think! :)
