A/N: My first one shot.
Annabeth
I was in my room, looking at Daedaluses laptop. The design apparently was a machine to carry water uphill without a pump. He used a corkscrew, and a pipe. You put the screw inside the pipe, and put it in the water and twist the corkscrew. And it carries water up. Fascinating. Then Percy came in.
"What are you doing here?"
I never took my eyes off the laptop as I said those words.
"Well…. Nico taught me a new game.
"A game? Sometimes Seaweed brain I wonder if you're Barney in disguise"
I, smirking turned around. Big mistake. As soon as I looked at those sea-green eyes butterflies started fluttering in my stomach. My heart was twisting itself into knots.
"Barney? Wise Girl, how do manage to insult me so!"
With my mouth dry, I said" Alright I'll play this game"
"It works like this. I'll put my hands on yours. Then you'll come out from behind and try to slap my hands on top."
"I like this game already"
"Humph. Anyway, I can pull back when you try to slap me. You can attempt to distract me."
"Wow! Seaweed Brain is actually using "attempt" instead of "try". Declare a national holiday!"
"You want to play or not"
"Sure."
Percy laid his hands on mine. He felt like the ocean, warm and comforting. Those tingles shot up my arm. Those butterflies churned relentlessly. I mentally cursed. 'Now is not the time'
"Hey is that a butterfly?"
"You don't fool me once."
I tried to slap him, but he pulled back quickly.
In my concentration I got closer, and closer.
Seaweed Brain looked like he was blushing.
"Hey Annabeth, isn't this a little too close?"
"Yeah. Like kissing distance isn't it?"
"Ummmm….."
"Imagine if I just tilted my head and leaned in…"
"…."
"….."
Slap!
"Hey .Cheater!"
"I beat you again Seaweed brain".
