Rao was a fighter – she didn't go down easy. Ever. She'd been expecting Ninetails from the beginning, believe it or not. She'd seen herself dying in a vision; she knew there was no escape. She knew.
But chose to die anyway. Why? She'd seen the coming of Okami Amaterasu, and her death would lead to that. It was inevitable, but she would be proud to perish for the sake of the city. For the sake of the queen.
Giant claws were what she saw, flying toward her like deadly spears, waiting to draw blood. The nine tails behind the beast wove and rose and fell like giant flags waving their imminent victory. Rao was disgusted, nonetheless, and flipped out five prayer slips, shuffling to the side at the last moment and nabbing the fox in the side. A growl was emitted before two of the tails clipped her side, sending her sprawling.
She blacked out for mere seconds before rolling onto her side and catching a glimpse of the doorway to the queen's palace. She could go down there, and get out of the way so no one would see her. It would work, she mused, moving to get up.
-- Only to be pulled back down by three tails.
Rao hissed angrily, taking out two hidden daggers and stabbing the two tails on her legs, a satisfying squirt of blood pouring out from the double wounds. Cue malicious grin from said woman.
Grabbing one of the knives, she ripped a hole in the remaining tail on her arm and prepared herself for the drop. When she was thrown to the ground, she shoulder rolled and dashed toward the hidden door, just managing to get through before Ninetails was after her.
And then she ran.
Everything hurt, so she wasn't going very fast, but she was also prepared to die. Ninetails sensed this, and wondered why. Why on earth would such a woman be prepared to die? Was she stupid? It was about this time that Rao finally collapsed, eyes glazed over as though she wasn't even there. In a different world. A dream.
And indeed, she was in a dream. Of sorts. A vision. This time, not of her death but – ...a twisted grin spread across her blood-stained face as the beast moved in for the kill.
"Why do you smile?" Ninetails asked, leaning down to whisper in her ear; it's jaws dangerously close to her neck. The woman chuckled girlishly.
"I christen you the wave of death; underestimate and swim." Her tone was vicious and blood-thirsty.
"...What?" The growl sounded through the underground hallway, the beast frowning distractedly.
"Of the light and the sun that breaks through wave. Of lightning and water and how they don't mix. Of the dark and its army and how it will fail. Of nine tails to eight to seven to six, to five to four to three to one. Of no Ninetails left in the dark." Animosity, hatred, burning, smouldering. "I christen you the ship to sink – and so from here I wish you well, on your journey into Hell."
She didn't get to continue. Her neck was snapped in two in a matter of one mille-second.
And Rao's vision was correct. Ninetails perished months after; slain by the sun goddess Okami Amaterasu. Rao won in the end. And she watched for the sky as her vision came true.

A fic inspired by Rao's Last Stand by Cold-heart-angel23. I hope you don't mind I kind of borrowed your idea to come up with this 0^0"
Anyhow, Rao's talking at the end was basically her vision in word form – that would be why it's so jumbled and confused. As for the title, "Christen You Titanic," is referring to how Rao see's Ninetails sinking like a stone no matter what he does.
