Authors Note: This isn't set particularly before or after any episodes in the series of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Just hope you like it. It's been over ten years since I wrote a fan fiction so I might be a little rusty.
SHE IS ONE: The Discovery
Car 10 of the highway patrol is on their routine route along lane 34, when something in the distance catches their attention. As the cruiser draws nearer the image becomes sharper and clearer.
'Shit! is that what I think it is?' The second officer in the car, cannot seem to find the words to answer, he is just as stunned as his partner. He doesn't reply instead he reaches for the car radio. 'This is Officer Warren of Car 10; we need a bus on lane 34 by the bridge, heading north. I repeat we need a bus immediately on lane 34'. With that Officer Warren returns the radio handset back into its holder.
The cruiser halts to a stop, Officer Warren jumps out of the right hand side. He rushes over to the object that had caused him so much shock and distress. Lying on the ground was the body of a naked woman with only a sheet covering some of her modesty.
She looked like she had been through hell and back; there were cuts and deep lacerations all over her body. Her ankles and legs had deep cut marks into the skin. Her face bruised and swollen, particularly the lips and the eyes, unrecognisable as a face, let alone a woman's face. She looked like she was wearing a red body suit; it wasn't until closer inspection that it wasn't a suit at all. It was blood, lots and lots of blood. Some of it dry, some of it still seeping out of her.
Officer Warren knelt down next to her, to check if there was a pulse. He managed to find one, it was faint but it was definitely there. His heart was racing fast; he could feel it beating in his ears. Adrenaline was now coursing through his veins. Whatever this woman had succumbed to he was full of hope that maybe she would survive the awful nightmare she had been through. All he could do was hope. He reached down to grab her hand; he gently gave it a squeeze. Just to let her know that she wasn't alone anymore.
He was looking at her face for any signs of acknowledgement. There was nothing, whatever world she was in wasn't the same as his.
A familiar sound came echoing over the horizon, his heart almost stopped in his chest. Glad to hear the sirens, that the paramedics could do more for this beaten soul than he could. He glanced once more at crumpled body before him. Something caught his eye. He pulled the sheet down to reveal her chest.
Officer Warren couldn't believe what he saw, he felt sick to his stomach. Carved on this woman's chest was a message, a message that he hoped he would never see. 'She is One'.
Please R&R, I appreciate I'm a little rusty and my grammar and punctuation is probably not that brilliant. (Which it never has lol) But any constructive criticism is always appreciated. Thanks.
