This is for avatarluv97's One Word Challenge/Competition on HPFC. The point is to have one word as the dialogue.
Mine.
Hermione walked down the cold stone hallway to the library with a skip in her step. She didn't know why, but she felt on top of the world today. It was like she was invincible. This newfound confidence was confusing to her, but that didn't mean she couldn't enjoy it.
One she got to the library, she smiled and waved at Madam Pince, who nodded in response. Hermione didn't have time to waste today, so she needed to find the book she needed for a Potions essay quickly. Confident that she wasn't going to have any distractions, Hermione strolled right to where she knew the book to be. She was only an inch away from grabbing it, when someone's hand flew into her vision and swiped it from the shelf.
She turned around, ready to plead for the book, and there stood Draco Malfoy, smiling deviously.
Hermione thought quick and hard for a way to get the book, when the confidence that had been shining through all day spoke for her.
Instantly, she advanced on Malfoy, and when she was a foot away from him, she smiled with fake shyness. She batted her now innocent looking eyes and stepped forward again. She placed both of her hands on his chest and noted his confused look and the fact that the book was in his left hand.
She smiled again, this time more confident, and snaked her hands up to wrap around his neck. Hermione had never been this close to a boy before—let alone, Draco Malfoy. That was something she though could only happen in her dreams.
She pulled his head down and his right hand found her waist. She allowed their lips to touch for only a second before she kissed his cheek and left a trail of kisses to his ear. She would only allow herself that much.
Once she had her mouth next to his ear, she decided it was now or never.
"Mine," she whispered as she easily took the book from his grasp. She shot him one last smile and a light chuckle before waltzing out of the library.
Draco stood back in shock and watched her leave. With that bloody book. He needed it for an essay! He scowled thinking about the way she took it. His scowl deepened when he realized how much he'd liked it. Craved it, even. He left the library in hot pursuit of a certain brunette with a certain book.
Did you like it? I loved writing this. As soon as I got the word "mine," I knew exactly how it would go, only I couldn't decide which would be the kisser and which would be the kissee, but who can resist fooling Draco Malfoy! Teehee. Drop a review, if you would be so kind. Later gators,
LA.
