Valkyrie leapt off the edge of the pier, diving into the Irish Sea, manipulating the currents to propel her away from the quartet of vampires on the coast. After a minute, she slowed down to navigate.
The coast was barely visible. The vampires were nowhere in sight. She sighed, relieved, and began swimming south-west, aiming to reach the coast a few miles further south than where she left shore before calling Skulduggery for help. She hoped the water-proof casing of her mobile phone was, in fact, water-proof.
As the coast began gliding into view, the wind picked up, and Valkyrie hit a strong current.
All of a sudden, a heavy weight slammed into her, and she was picked up and thrown through the air. She landed on land and sat up, frowning. She looked around her. She seemed to be on a small island, under fifty square metres, with no plant growth whatsoever.
There was a flash of light, and a fish the size of the Bentley flew out of the water, flopping onto the ground beside her.
Valkyrie rubbed her eyes. "I think I need some sleep…"
"Hello, beautiful," the fish said.
Valkyrie frowned. "You're a fish."
"I am."
"And you're really hot."
"That too," the fish agreed.
Valkyrie grinned. "This is weird." She leaned in and kissed the fish's neck.
"What's your name, dear?" the fish asked.
"I'm Valkyrie. Who's asking?"
"My name is Fish," Fish replied sexily.
"What a beautiful name!" Valkyrie squee'd.
"Ikr," Fish grinned.
Valkyrie edged closer to Fish, caressing his gills. Fish gasped. "I glub you!"
"I glub you too," Valkyrie replied.
Then she got pregnant and died of fish.
