"It's not my fault! How was I to know what would happen?" Katrina mumbled sullenly. She picked at her pasta, having lost her appetite about an hour ago, when this conversation (more like interrogation) had started. "But why? Why would you push him? I thought Jim was your friend." Her mother asked, a fake concerned look on her face. Karinas' parents were politicians, skilled at lying and decieving. They weren't concerned for her, they were worried she could screw up their reputation. "Mother, I told you, he pulled a knife on me. It was probably just a dare, but I didn't want to find out it wasn't by getting stabbed." Katrina replied evenly. She was equally skilled at masking her emotions. After all, you have to be when your entire life is characterized by either emotionless, cold relationships or happy fake ones. "So, quick recap," Katrinas' father started, "you were walking down the hallway when Jim and his friends come up to you. Jim reaches in his jacket and pulls out a knife. You get scared and push him." He raised a trembling eyebrow at her. "Is that what you are saying happened?" Katrina sighed inwardly, because she was all too familiar with the trembling eyebrow. "Yes father, that is what happened." She stated firmly. "Well, that is a great story and all, but you 'just pushing him' does not tell us how he slid ten feet, fell down two flights of stairs, and ," He paused, red in the face and breathing hard, "THROUGH A GODDAMN WALL! HE CRASHED THROUGH A WALL!"

Predictably, the conversation only went downhill from there. Long story short, Katrina was more or less on house arrest untill the whole matter was cleared up. Katrina sighed and flopped down on her bed, exausted. It had been a very trying day. *KNOCK KNOCK* Katrina sat up quickly. Someone was knocking on the door. At ten o'clock at night. Katrina got up and opened her door. From the landing, she could she her mother opening the front door. A lady in a suit stood on the porch. " , I presume?" The lady quieried. "Yes, and who might you be?" My mother replied in a haughty tone. The lady smiled faintly and said "I am Marie, and I work for the US government." Marie smirked, as if laughing at a joke only she got. "Could I speak to you and your husband privatly, regarding your daughter and her... abilities."
