"Hey Bebe, have you seen Wendy?"
"Um I think I saw her run to Stark's Pond." she says.
"Thanks." I say to her and run off to Stark's Pond.
I run until I see her pink beanie slowing down my pace.
I stopped running and walked over to her.
I stopped walking so I was standing next to her sitting form. I stared at her. Even though her hair was covering her face I knew tears were falling down her face.
I knelt down in front of her. She looked at me and I gave her a small smile. I brushed her hair out of her face and kissed her cheek.
"It'll be okay." I told her.
"How do you know?"
"I just do."
"How?"
"I lost my grandfather and I'm still here."
She looked at me as more tears streamed down her face. "That's different. He was your grandfather not your dad."
I looked down and sighed while she just turned away.
"Look at me."
She looked at me with her eyes full of so much sadness.
"What?" she says.
"It will be okay. I'll be right here for you. I promise."
She gave me a smile and says, "Okay."
I grin at her and say, "Maybe okay will be our always. Okay?"
A grin back. "Okay."
I stand up and hold my hand out to her helping her stand up.
She stands and wraps her arms around my middle hugging me. I wrap my arms around her hugging her back.
"Thank you." she whispers.
I kiss the top of her head and whisper back, "You're welcome."
