Disclaimer: I do not own Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu or any of its characters. If I did, I wouldn't be writing this because Zane would be alive! I do own Alex.

I really hate writing this, but it has to be done. I needed a way to poor my pain and then I felt like posting it. I literally cried when Zane died. The flashback made it even sadder! Like I said, I'm sorry but…here you go.

Alex slipped away from the others and into the alleyway. She climbed up the fire escape and sat against the side of the building at the top. She looked up at the sky as tears started to fall from her eyes. This couldn't be happening. Zane couldn't be dead.

"Why didn't I stop him?" she growled at herself, slapping her forehead.

She remembered how she had a chance. The golden tentacles were gone and the golden energy was being forced into Zane. So long as she didn't touch the metal, there was a chance she could've saved him. The least she could've done was try.

Alex stared down at where the others were. They all knew Zane was gone. He knew he wouldn't make it, but he sacrificed his life to save Ninjago City. Zane was a hero.

Alex watched Lloyd as he ordered snakes around his new head quarters. She sensed someone approach her and she turned to see a ninja in white. She knew he was one of the elemental ninja from the prophecy but wanted to double check.

"You're one of the ninja, right?" she asked in a quiet tone.

"Yes, and who are you?" the ninja replied.

"My name is Alex," she said, looking back to the tree house. "You're attacking in the morning, aren't you?"

"Well..." the white ninja started.

Alex looked back to him. "Do what you wish to the serpentine, but promise to leave the boy alone. He doesn't understand the evil he's unleashed," she said before taking off with in the shadows. She stopped behind a tree.

"Alex..." she heard the ninja repeat her name. "I promise." He turned and ran back up towards the monastery.

Alex smiled as he left. "Good luck, Ninja of Ice."

Alex buried her hands in her face. They'd grown so close since then. She considered Zane as her brother, and she knew he saw her as his sister. Her brother couldn't just leave her!

"He died a hero," Alex murmured to herself. She looked back to the sky. Why did he have to die a hero? Why couldn't he be a living hero? Why did he have to leave them?

"Alex?"

Alex looked down to see Kai and Cole walk into the alleyway. Quickly, she wiped the tears from her eyes and stood up. "Yeah?" she called down.

"Alex, we know you're upset, we all are," Cole said, "but you don't need to be alone."

Alex felt some rage boil in her blood. So suddenly he cared for her? For the past week he's been competing for Nya! Alex couldn't blame Nya for considering being with Cole, just look at him! She hated the fact that he fell for Nya and not her though. Though none of that was Nya's fault, Nya did know that Alex liked Cole. Liked as in not anymore—or at least she was trying not to.

"Alex, just come down," Kai insisted.

Alex looked down at Kai. Normally she wouldn't do anything the Ninja of Fire would say, but she reluctantly climbed back down. "I can't believe he's gone," she said softly.

"None of us want to believe it," Kai said.

Alex felt her heart shatter. That was it, she couldn't take it anymore. She collapsed into Kai's arms and sobbed. As much as she wanted to believe he was still out there, she had to give in to the facts. Zane may have been gone, but he'd live on within his teammates—and within her.

So... I hope that clears up how Alex would've reacted. Good night! Review. Flame if you wish, let out your emotion. I know I did. :(
